This is a set of 8 shelves with visible decorative brackets. This set comes with hardware and a screwdriver. I did not use the screwdriver as I have better tools at home, but the screwdriver could be used with some effort if you didn't have another option. The shelves were very lightweight yet sturdy. I like that the shelves are short because they allowed me to utilize a weird area in my bedroom behind the door that was wasted space until I ordered these shelves. As you can see, I used these shelves for paperback book storage. Because these were small, I was able to store a small number of lightweight books on each without maxing out the 40lb weight limit that these shelves supposedly hold. I would not recommend getting close to the weight allowance as the wood is extremely light and would be prone to sag or break with too much weight. Installing these was not difficult to do; however, if I had a complaint, my one complaint would be that the package does not include a guiding strip for installation. Since these are two separate unattached brackets, a guiding strip would be helpful. When I installed my first shelf, I installed it crooked despite measuring out the spaces multiple times. I then learned that it was easier to attach the brackets to the shelf and mark out one side of the shelf on the wall. Then, screw the shelf into the wall and adjust the other side with a level until everything is balanced. Then mark or drill directly into place. Due to the location that I was using in my room, I only had to use one wall anchor as the screws went in snuggly without anchors. This helped to expedite the process. Since this shelf isn't going to hold much weight or have a lot of manipulation happening to it, I would recommend that people attempt to install these without wall anchors first. You might discover like me that you don't need them and save yourself time and energy with the installation. Anyway, I would recommend these to anyone looking for small storage shelves for lightweight items. They look nice and hold up well. I ended up ordering another set to install in an additional bedroom to hold children's books for the foster children I take care of. I will most likely paint the second set to match the decor in that room as the color options on these sets are limited. ... show more
