  • Not sure if bad shoes or I dont know how to use them
I'm giving these 3 stars because I wanted to give them one star for performance but part of that could have been due to the fact that I may not know how to proprerly use shoes this aggressive. I'm used to climbing in the Rogues and I love them. I climb 5.12-/V4 average with those and I was hoping these would help my overhang/bouldering control but I can't get them to stick to anything. They both use the C4 stealth rubber which is why I can't say for sure that its the shoes and not just my climbing style but I dropped 3 grades in these. Take that for what you will. As for the fit. I wear a 10-10.5 men's street shoes and a 41.5eu/8.5usm in the Rogues. With these I went with the advice of other reviews and went up to a 9.5usm and they were very, very tight. That said, I felt like it was the shape rather than the size causing it. I think if I'd gone even a half size up they'd have left me with a little slop. The biggest thing I had trouble with is that the pull straps are exposed in the heel of the shoe and they cut into my ankles really badly. Long story short these seem like OK shoes but if you're used to a more relaxed fit or a soft sole you can feel holds through then I recommend you pass on these and grab the Rogues. ... show more

  • Wouldn't downsize, overall good and comfortable fit for an aggressive shoe, break-in may be rough but is worth it in the end.
If you've worn 5.10's in the past, specifically less aggressive pairs (Rogues in my case) I would recommend sticking with the same size, or going a half size up. Would not recommend downsizing, as they are already a tighter fit than my rogues ever were, and I'm saying that understanding that an aggressive shoe obviously will "feel" tighter; it is still a tighter fit overall. I've spoken to a few other owners of these shoes that have both already been through the break-in period on them, and they say that the shoe lengthwise will only stretch slightly, but the toe box will expand width-wise to the shape of your foot nicely. This is something I was worried about because I have wide feet, and currently the toe box is very tight with my toes curled quite a bit on both sizes which lead me to consider returning them and half sizing up. However after talking to multiple owners that both agreed that the toe box expanded to accommodate their feet, I'm going to stick with the same size as my Rogues and endure through the break in. Overall, besides the toe box, the fit is good. Snug around the right parts, very solid heel. Nice downturn while still being decently comfortable. Can't wait to put these through their paces! I'll try to remember and update my review once I'm past the break in. ... show more

  • Great all around shoe, wears out quick.
Pros: -Great introduction to aggressive shoes. -Comfortable after broken in. -Good all around performance shoe. -Bites the rock/plastic really well. Cons: -I burned through a pair in 2.5 months, rand/toe is dead. (I know this has to do with proper technique as well, but I have decent technique but climb every weekend and 3-5 days a week in gym.) -The rubber is soft and bites the plastic and rock but the trade off is faster deterioration. -Turns your feet blue for the entire time you own them. -Stretches almost a half size ... show more

  • Overall decent advanced shoe -- Pull tabs are a HUGE minus
Size: 12 Color: Turquoise/Grey
The shoe has great toeing action, however the majority of my negative review comes from the pull tabs. They are EXTREMELY uncomfortable since they're sown directly into the shoe and rub against your heel.

  • My feet are no longer blue!
My favorite shoes just got better by solving their blue foot issue. This is my 4th pair I believe and functionally speaking they perform as I would want. I'm not sure why others are complaining about the life of the soles. Here they appear to be fairing about as well as I would expect with a marked improvement on my part due to an awareness of foot drag. ... show more

  • Wore through too quick!
Honestly a really great shoe, it did take a couple weeks to break in but not an abnormal amount of time (I climb 3-4 times a week) However, I've only had them for about 5 months and just realized that the toes are completely wearing through! I can see my toe on my right foot and now need to buy a new pair. I don't plan on buying these again because I was hoping to at least get a solid year out of them. Honestly really disappointed because I really have loved this pair but not at all worth the price for just 5 months of climbing. ... show more

  • but I expect they'll be great! They have a fantastic group onto holds
Still in the process of breaking them in, but I expect they'll be great! They have a fantastic grip onto holds. They do turn your feet blue from the dye, however.

  • peak power
peak power!! I wear a 47 EU / 13 US in climbing shoes. When they list this as 47 EU / 13D US, they mean it ! No room for wiggle as to avoid any loss of power. NO! they're not comfortable, wear all day, wall shoes. They're not mean to be. These are send your project boulder problem shoes because you need that extra power. ... show more
