Description

Fitbit Charge 5 + Premium connects the dots between your activity, sleep and stress so you can make the best decisions for your body, mind and health. It all starts with your 6-month Premium membership and Daily Readiness, a score based on activity, sleep and heart rate variability (HRV) that helps you optimize your workout routine. Your score comes with personalized activity recommendations: low means go easy and recover—light yoga, deep breathing—while a high score gives you the green light to go all out. Enhance your recovery routine with advanced stress-management tools like the on-wrist EDA sensor. Stay ahead of heart health with atrial fibrillation (AFib) heart rhythm assessments using the on-wrist ECG app. And you’ll always have motivation to reach new goals with hundreds of guided workouts, a gallery of refreshing mindfulness sessions plus the fitness features you know and love like Active Zone Minutes and built-in GPS.

  • Works well.
Color: Graphite/Black
My previous FitBit was the original Charge HR, which had battery issues from the start. It was advertised as having a battery that would last a week, vut it never lasted much more than a single day, which then required more than an 8 hour charge. Unfortunately, that seemed to be everyones experience. I should have paid less attention to the overall satisfaction of users, and more attention to what they had to say about battery life. And when it failed several years ago, it was, unsurprisingly, a battery issue (it was lasting less than a day). And it persisted even after I replaced it. So I just put it in a drawer, several years ago. So before buying the Charge 5, I checked out all the reviews, and how long the Charge 5 holds a charge did not seem to be an issue at all. And the battery does indeed seem to last for a week! I haven't actually checked how long it actually lasts, but it is at least 5 days, possibly longer! My only issue is calling up the clock. The original Charge HR only required a quick turn of the wrist, and it turned on the display. The 5 has required tapping on the screen. Right now it requires 2 taps on the screen. It was originally one tap. I assumed that it is capable of responding to a turn of the wrist, so I changed it from 'Automatic' to 'Manual', and now I have to tap it twice. Not a big issue at all. Quite possibly it CAN turn on the day from a turn of the wrist, and I just haven't done my due diligence researching it. But so far, I am quite happy with it. ... show more

  • 2nd FAILURE IN LESS THAN A MONTH
Color: Graphite/Black
I've used Fitbit products for several years. I'm an avid fitness fanatic and enjoy the feedback on my sleep, exercise, as well as the badges you earn that keep you encouraged and going. However, since Google took over Fitbit I've been troubled with service and will be filing a report with the Fair Trade Commission. In short, a charge 5 failed in warranty. I contacted google July 26th and we troubleshot it over the phone determining that the battery had failed and that it would be escallated for replacement. Expect an email in 1 day asking for details and then a replacement thereafter. Email came on day 3 or 4. Responded promptly and allowed 2 weeks - nothing. Called Google, provided the reference number on the original email and was placed on hold a few times. I was asked for the basic information I had provided in the original response email. I was told I may get an email in a day or two explaining how to return the device. That email never came and no replacement was provided. Called again and was placed on several long holds and having been over a month since the device failed with no sign of Google backing their warranty, I ordered a replacement and the Asurion warranty on Amazon - figuring Amazon, unlike Google should back the warranty. I received the new charge 5 on Tuesday and Saturday night the screen lit up bright white, the watch buzzed a bit and the screen went blank. I noticed I had a low power email which I thought was odd as the app had showed me a 70% charge earlier that day. I charged the device overnight - nothing. I attempted to restart the device by pushing the black button on the charge cable according to instructions on Fitbit site - nothing. I have a constant red light displayed on the back of the watch and the display doesn't function. I am starting a claim with Asurion for a replacement. Sad part is that I have really enjoyed and grown attached to Fitbit service and products but from what I can tell I am either extremely unlucky or I have had two lemons in a row with one lasting 10 months and 1 lasting 4 days... and I need to find a new product. Be wary about purchasing the charge 5. Imho it is seriously flawed. Update: Amazon made this so easy. Love Amazon. Fitbit still has not provided any relief. I decided to try charge 6. If it fails I will be buying Garmin next go round. ... show more

  • Works for just over a year
Color: Graphite/Black
Great until it doesn’t work anymore. I believe I have to buy a new one just over the warranty time.

  • Good functionality, sleek design, good battery life; two year life span
Color: Steel Blue/Platinum
This is Fitbit #4 for me. The batteries last about two years, and once charge capacity dips below a certain level, the devices malfunction. Displays won't illuminate. IP67/68 water resistance rating should be rated for swimming (it tracks swimming workouts), but one Fitbit leaked. Avoid hot and/or soapy water, and it shouldn't be an issue (don't shower/bathe with it on). Keep it clean (no solvents/soap), and wipe down/dry when wet or after workouts to make it last longer. Common sense things. Mediocre things aside, the Fitbit does what it is supposed to do: continuous tracking of HR, motion/steps, O2 saturation/oximeter (when sleeping for at least 4-5 hours), sleep quality, rate of respiration, skin temp (gives a variance, not absolute reading), and heart rate variability, in a slim, sleek package with a bright OLED display that stays continuously powered for multiple days between charges (when battery health is good). As long as the user is okay with replacing it every 2-3 years, the Fitbit Charge works. ... show more

  • Poor battery life
Color: Graphite/Black
Don’t buy refurbished. Battery only lasts a couple days. After a couple days unit shows 40% battery but then goes to 0% in just an hour or two. I’ve never had problems with new Fitbits but would recommend avoiding this one.

  • Ok to get your data, but you may struggle getting a good enough band to keep it on
Color: Graphite/Black
Overall, this is a low price for just getting your data. I don't give it more stars because for what it does which is basically measure your data is still feels big, because pretty much you won't be using it for anything else. The battery life is good and my biggest complaint is that the band that comes with it may give you a rash if you stay with it for long periods of times(more than one day), but since basically that's what you want to in order to get your data I would expect a better default band which does not hold water etc., additionally the third party bands which I have tried easily unclip themselves when you put some pressure unintentionally so I would not be surprised if you lose the band and you don't even realize. ... show more
