Planting, repotting and caring for my indoor plants has always been somewhat messy and unduly difficult. Even so simple a task as trying to get fresh potting soil into the new pot could often end badly when it involved the use of kitchen utensils and cutlery. This Fiskars 5-Piece Cultivating Tool Set makes a world of difference. I've been happily and successfully using full sized Fiscars tools for many years. This set looks to be of the same high quality and each of the 5 tools are designed and sized properly for their intended tasks. The Soil Scoop is a great little shovel for moving soil from the bag to the pot. The tines of the Cultivator easily loosen up packed soil in root balls, but I also use it to prepare and grade the soil in the pot prior to planting, and to grade soil and rake debris in already potted plants. The Trowel is sized and shaped optimally for use in smaller pots. The Tongs are very helpful while moving and placing plants, and also very useful while gently removing dead or unwanted parts. The Trowel is just the right size and The Brush works great for getting debris off leaves, and is even soft enough to be used on African Violets. The tools are attractive, made from stainless steel with a powder coat finish, are easy to clean, fit neatly together and are easily removed from and replaced on the included ring. I've always loved my indoor gardening and now everything is so much easier and even more enjoyable. I'm starting to plant my indoor seeds and I'm sure these tools will be very helpful with that as well.

I became addicted to houseplants and all the accoutrements this last year. I even already have a couple of Fiskars tools because I know their reputation, but I don't have a set like this. I really like the green color as most of my plant tools are some shade of green. The clip makes it easy to keep things organized. If you stack everything as pictured, they mostly do nest. These aren't mini tools, so they're not really suited for bonsai, individual succulents, and other small plants, but for all other plants and why not outdoor plants, they're great. The metal is thick and feels very durable. I just wish they hadn't zip tied the tools to the packaging and in so many places because it scratches up the metal. I know things like this are meant to get dirty and worn, but I make the effort to keep my things looking their best. $54.99 is also not surprising but perhaps expensive still.

I ordered this set of mini gardening tools to replace my serving spoons and meat forks for digging in the dirt. This sturdy set is made of stainless steel, ensuring durability and resistance to bending. The quality is evident in the handle design, which is made so they can nest but also provides a comfortable grip. For their size, their weight is substantial. The set includes a scoop, trowel, cultivator, brush, and tweezers. I’ll likely use the scoop, trowel, and cultivator the most frequently. The tools feel balanced in my hand, and the channel in the handles allows me to rest my thumb, enhancing control. The nesting feature is a great addition, as the tools fit together neatly and can be hung on their loop. Removing and putting them back is surprisingly easy, but I’ll be cautious when transporting them to avoid accidentally losing one because it came off the loop. After experimenting with the tools, I’ve decided to hang them on their hook with the loop access point at the top to minimize the risk of them falling off. I’ll primarily use these tools on my houseplants and the many pots of summer annuals I have outside each year. The tools are the perfect size for planting and cultivating these plants. Each of the four metal tools measures just under 8 inches in length, while the brush with its soft bristles is 6 1/2 inches long. I can’t wait for spring so I can visit the garden center and select some beautiful specimens to plant.

These are the tools that I didn’t know I needed, and I have lots of gardening tools. They were a lot heavier than I expected. The hand trowel has the weight of a heavy-duty serving spoon. It feels balanced in the hand and are the perfect size for indoor plants—just enough scoop to fill smaller pots. This set is a less-mess option for indoor planting. No longer do I have to use a disposable plastic cup and eyeball the amount of soil I need for a container. Despite being made for indoors gardening, I find myself using them for my larger, outdoor containers as well. I had to rake slow-release fertilizer to my potted fruit trees, and these made the perfect tools. They are small enough to maneuver with surgical precision without disturbing the root flare. They are also perfect for orchids when repotting. You can safely tweeze away the potting medium. Another positive attribute is their compact size, which makes it easy to carry them around in your pockets. Overall, they are well-designed, versatile and my new besties.
