This is an impressive kit for a great value! I got it for my husband as a gift and he was very pleased! He really liked the variety of tools included and commented that it really has everything you need. He also really liked the tool lanyard and retractor included and that all of the tools have holes in them (except the knife sharpener) to be able to use it on whatever tools you like to keep handy. The tools that stand out most to me (a I also fish) are the fish grips, filet knife, and pliers. The grips close into a locked position and the two clamps are firmly pressed together so you won't have to worry about any slips. They are lightweight and fit nicely into my hands, so they'll be easy to hold and control with larger fish. The filet knife is super sharp! It also comes with a sharpener so you'll never have to worry about it dulling mid-cleaning. I like that the sharpener is really protable, easy to throw in your tackle box or pocket to have with you at all times, so we can keep the heavy duty one at home. The cover snaps/clicks closed, which is very important to make sure it doesn't come uncovered when it shouldn't. Again, it's very sharp! The handle has nice grips and fits ergonomically into my hand. It's lightweight but doesn't feel cheap at all. Finally, the pliers--they also have a nice grip and comfortable feel in your hand. These are manual open/close, but that doesn't bother me. The tips are long and have nice teeth for good grip. They have a cutter to easily cut your line if needed. I think these will really come in handy for swallowed hooks or the pesky turtles the like my husband's catfish bait. On the lanyard and tool retractor, the keyring things could probably be upgraded to a more heavy duty ring. The lanyard has a small ring that won't work with all of the items because the ring is too small, but it is easily changeable to accommodate any of the tools. The lanyard, per the box, is intended for the pliers. When in use, unless you have the little rubber piece that holds the pliers closed, your pliers are likely going to hang in an open position. I don't see that rubber piece even making it past first use, it'll certainly get lost or tossed. Also, the lanyard is a thin rubber, it stretches quite a lot when the pliers are hanging from it due to their weight. A stronger lanyard would be ideal to use in the fashion it's marketed. My husband will have them in his bag, so no big deal for him, but that's something to be aware of if that's your intent. The ruler is a sticker and appears to be water resistant at minimum, so we'll see how that holds up on my husband's cooler. Overall, a great variety with great quality for the price. Can't go wrong here! Fish on!

This 7pc Fishing Pliers Kit honestly exceeded my expectations, especially considering the price point. It includes just about everything you actually need out on the water in one package, making it a really convenient setup for both new and experienced fishermen. The kit comes with a solid variety of tools including a fillet knife with sheath, split ring pliers, braid scissors, fish gripper, ceramic sharpener, 35-inch ruler, retracting tether, and coiled lanyard. I especially like the inclusion of the tether and lanyard because anyone who spends time fishing knows how easy it is to accidentally drop tools into the lake. Those additions help keep everything secure and close at hand. The overall quality of the tools was better than I expected. The plastic portions feel sturdy and durable rather than cheap or flimsy. Nothing in the kit feels like it is going to crack or break easily with normal use. The cutting tools all came sharp right out of the box. The braid scissors cut braided fishing line cleanly without fraying or struggling, which is important since some cheaper scissors have trouble with braid. The split ring pliers also work well and feel comfortable in hand. The fillet knife was another pleasant surprise. It is sharp, and the blade has a good amount of flex for more precise cuts while cleaning fish. It feels well suited for smaller to medium fish processing jobs. The fish gripper also feels very solid and locks securely in place. That is helpful not only for handling fish safely, but also for protecting your hands from hooks and sharp teeth while minimizing stress on the fish during handling. Overall, this is a really solid value for the money. You get a good assortment of useful fishing tools in one convenient package, and the quality is better than expected for this price range. It would make a great gift for any fisherman, but especially for newer anglers who need a good starter selection of tools without having to buy everything separately.

These are pretty good tools. The pliers are very solid. Heavy duty and pretty heavy in weight too. Definitely not cheap flimsy ones. The lip grippers are very large and lightweight. Nice and easy to grip and gives you a nice bit of distance from the head of fish with teeth. The filet knife is well balanced and feels solid, the blade is very sharp and well coated in an oil for storage, so wipe/wash it well before use. The sheath is skeletonized plastic to not retain smell or water. It also comes with a sharpener. The scissors are short, but have a nice set of handles. The blades are sharp and have a nice little and subtle serration/teeth all the way along the cutting edge to help cut through braid and other tougher items. They're very nice. It also comes with a measuring tape sticker which is pretty nifty. The only complaint I have is that it only comes with 2 tethers, one retractable and the other a coil lanyard, and the kit comes with 3 tools you want to have tethered. So I'm not sure why it doesn't include a third of some sort. The price isn't bad, and can get down to pretty darn good. At the time of writing it's on sale for down to 25 which is an amazing deal. At it's current price of around 40 it's not a bad deal. So if it stays in that range this review holds up. I like the tools, they're ergonomic, and well made. No real complaints at all, and especially not in the quality of the tools. This is a great all inclusive tool set. If you need everything and are starting from square one this is a great choice. I would recommend. No issues. Decent price, and great tools.

I have a trip to Big Bear Lake coming up and decided it was time to stop catching my fish at the local market and actually come home with something. A complete kit made more sense than piecing together individual tools, and this one covers every step from the water to the cutting board. This is the thing that stood out most when I pulled everything out of the box. The plastic components are hard and strong in a way that does not register as cheap despite being lightweight. It reminded me of the difference between aluminum and steel, the lighter material is not the lesser material. The pliers have a solidity to them when you grip them that more expensive looking tools do not always deliver, and the fillet knife came sharp enough that it was immediately obvious it was not a decorative inclusion. Seven pieces covering everything you actually need on the water. Fillet knife with sheath, split ring pliers, braid scissors with a pin-on retractor, fish gripper, 35 inch ruler, ceramic sharpener, and a lanyard to keep it all together. Nothing in here feels like a filler item added to bump the piece count. The braid scissors with the retractor clip are particularly useful since line cutters are the tool most likely to end up at the bottom of a tackle bag when you need them immediately. The titanium coated blade is sharp, low glare, and the ventilated sheath keeps it dry between uses. The non-slip handle gives enough grip that wet hands are not a concern during fish prep. Rinse and dry everything after saltwater use before storing. The retractable scissor clip keeps the scissors accessible without digging, but it does require a firm pull to extend so factor that in during use. A complete, well built fishing tool kit that exceeded what I expected at this price point. Now I just have to actually catch something at Big Bear, which is apparently the hard part. The kit is ready either way.

Everything works well and are ready to go right out of the box! The tools are well-constructed and seem to be of high quality, perfect for both saltwater and freshwater fishing. I’ve used a lot of fishing tools over the years, and this kit honestly surprised me with how practical everything is. Nothing in the set feels like cheap filler — every tool actually serves a purpose and has already made my fishing trips a little easier. The split ring pliers work great for changing out hooks and cutting line, and the braid scissors are probably my favorite part of the kit. They cut braid clean without fraying, and the retractor keeps them close by so I’m not constantly digging through my tackle bag. The braid scissors stand out the most — they’re very sharp and give a clean cut every time, which is exactly what you want when dealing with fishing line.
