Overall this seems like a great product - I've yet to test it out in a real fishing/outdoor situation and I cannot speak so far about its durability but these are the features that are noteworthy and impressive - - Lightweight and strong - perfect combination of impressive materials - aluminum, chrome, and tungsten - Multi function use - from holding, grabbing, stripping, cutting - Nice holster and belt loop - I think the "velcro fastener" is a nice design element for security to hold the tool - A clip on the back would have been a great feature to add, in addition to the belt loop. - Overall appears to built well built and functioning. - Also comes with a carabiner and stretch cord. Finally decided to upgrade the old needle nose pliers in my tackle box and I'm so happy I did. These spring loaded fishing pliers are sized well and perform multiple functions. I've only used them for a short time in fresh water, so I can't speak for the long term durability or the effects of use in salt water, but they appear to be a quality tool. In addition the line cutters on these pliers slice through braided line cleanly and the included lanyard is must when out on the kayak. I haven't used the fish grippers or the sheath included in this set, but they appear to be of decent quality. However, the pliers alone are worth the price I paid, so no need to overpay for pliers at the tackle store.

This is a review for the pliers as I haven’t used the grippers yet. The pliers are great, super lightweight in the hand and do what they are meant to do. Line cutter works great as well. Love how you get the pliers, sheath, lanyard, and grippers at an awesome price. The grippers feel decent, light as well. Haven’t yet tried them out but they seem like they’ll do the job. Make sure you rinse it off after every use. I mainly fish the saltwater so I tend to rinse everything after every trip out. If you’re looking for a budget set, stop here and pick these up. I had to wait before leaving a review as I wanted to make sure these were the best bang for your buck. Sure there are other pliers that use better material, but as long as you take care of these, they’ll take care of you. Would buy again.

Got two of these for the MissyLee, our 24' Northwind Osprey. They are well built, lightweight, offer a variety of functions and came with holsters and lanyards. The holder is quite cheaply made and will not last long. The provided split ring used to mount the lanyard is too small. I'm not sure how long the included fish grabber is going to last, but I bought these for the pliers/lanyard/holsters. The pliers themselves are great.

I am surprised at the quality of these pliers. Although light weight they are nimble and tight in their construction. The needle nose is fine enough to remove treble hooks from inside the mouth of fish. The cutting edge is the best I've used for cutting braided line. It cuts the line crisp enough I can easily thread the line not only through hooks but even the eye of a needle. The lip grippers are a throw in and will work on small fish but wouldn't recommend them for trophy size catches.

It seems there are plenty of this type of fishing pliers available in a wide range of prices. I chose this one as it looked to be what I needed to attach to my tackle bag to have handy when needed. The combination of style, functionality and price are what sold me. It did not disappoint. Bonus points for sleeve, coiled cord attachment and boga style gripper included. Performed nicely in use on several fishing trips and seems to be very well made and sturdy. A no brainer at this price.

The product is solidly made but is light weight to carry. The pliers work great and the fish holder comes in handy for me while fishing from the kayak. Also something that may be taken for granted is the elastic holder that comes with it. I attach mine to my chair in kayak so I can get to it easily. It also is nice because if I were to drop them over board I am able to retrieve them from the water. The cutter portion also works well. I am pleased with the product.

Put this to use for the first time the other day and pulled in 12, 2-3lb catfish. A lot of them had completely swallowed bait and hook. Pliers worked like a charm with a strong but small front endpoint that was able to get down in the fish but not tear it up. Loved being able to hook to belt via spring cord, kept it from falling in the pond a few times. The clamp worked great to keep the mouth open and protect my hands. Recommend for the recreational fisher for sure.
