Hinge for collapsing is tight and locks in well. The twist locks on extension handle lock the handle very well in multiple positions for varying lengths as may be needed for different fishing situations. So you can't go wrong with a longer net even if you find needing to use as a shorter net. No where in the description was it mentioned that the nylon net is rubber coated. Poor build quality. Screws were loose from the starts. My box even seemed like I got a used product. Very shaky, and rattly. Heavier than it looks.
