I always like pens that use the Fischer Space Pen refill and, of course, I always like a Fischer Space Pen. This one stays with a Rite in the Rain notepad in my First Aid/Trauma kit. It is very small, very slim. I would not use it for my every-day pen but I have other great pens for every day use. Should I ever need to Triage with my First Aid/Trauma kit this pen will be up to the task, and that is why I depend on them. ... show more

This is my second Stowaway. I carried my first one in my pants pocket for over a year without needing a new refill. (It still doesn't need a new refill - I seem to have lost it). The cap occasionally becomes loose, but a light squeeze retightens it. It has been through the wash at least twice without leaking ink, although that's not a result I can guarantee. It is the most convenient every day carry pen I have ever owned - better than the Fisher Bullet, IMHO. Due to its size it is a compromise to those that need a small pen. Try is I may to use it, I cannot adapt to it. Sure you can write with it, but unless using a normal sized pen is not possible, then this pen serves a purpose, but it definitely is a compromise. Besides, it might tout as a space pen, but it is not as smooth as an earth pens that are both functional and a lot cheaper. ... show more

I love these pens. I carry one in my pocket at all times. I've never had one run out of ink, but I have lost two of them when they slip out of my pocket in dress pants. After several days of not using the pen, sometimes there is a blob of ink that is on the tip of the pen. Be careful you don't run your finger over it when you begin to write on the paper, or you'll smear it everywhere. Also, this pen can write on anything, including greasy paper, aluminum foil, or other things that are difficult for normal pens to mark. It's a great pen. ... show more

    • Surprisingly ergonomic

This has become my wallet pen. After years of buying "bullet" space pens from Fisher, I found that I didn't use them as much as I expected because they never really felt settled in my hand. Inevitably they would end up slipping out of a pocket and disappearing due to their very smooth closed shape. This pen, despite being smaller, is somehow much easier to write with and due to its cylindrical shape, will stay put in a pocket or under an elastic loop rather than squirting out like the bullet pens do. I never expected to prefer the feel of writing with such a small pen, but this one really works for me. ... show more
