Life has been kicking my butt lately, so my fingers don't work as well as they did as a young man, so these will come in handy when I get back to fishing. I can get a good grip on the handles, and for fish bigger than the smaller sunnies, they should work well, can't wait to tyr them soon.

This fish grabber is a good idea and I wanted to like it, but it's a bit flimsy. It arrived with the tongs misaligned but because of the soft metal, it was easy to bend them back into alignment. This raised concern about their strength when handling larger, energetic fish and overall durability. The shape of the grabber tongs seems to limit their effectiveness to medium-size fish - they don't close tightly enough to be effective for small fish and they don't open wide enough for it to be possible to grab larger fish. A good idea that needs more work in my opinion. UPDATE 9June2024: I upgraded my rating to 5 stars. The metal is still soft, but it turns out that my wife and daughter really like this gripper. It does a good job of immobilizing smaller fish, especially small catfish that are infamous for sinking their stinging spines into bare hands. The pliers gripper has become an important fishing tool for our family.

This is a solid construction tool that is useful when holding around medium size fish. Too small and it just doesn't hold it right, too large and it is just not big enough. It help move fish around when it is wet and slippery. Pulling the fish from a cooler, and used to grab a fish from the fishing line. I would say it feels like aluminum, so I wouldn't go driving any trucks over it any time soon, but it functions how it is intended to function and I am pleased with the acquisition.
