Which is good, because it stays fresher longer. When I use it, I will vacuum seal whatever is left to be stored. I have a container that can hold about 2 pounds, and it keeps air out too. So, I think my coffee will be just fine. The beans make a good pot of coffee

If you're like me and you depend on Amazon for cheap coffee beans, you might resist paying nearly $50 for a bag of beans, for the cheaper alternatives I've had and won't name here. This was definitely worth it. My spouse and I noticed a big difference right off the first cup, making the coffee in our french press the same way as any other type. The beans have a distinct sweetness that could just be the absence of bitterness from overroasting you get with a lot of brands. Anyways, we'll definitely go for another bag next month. ... show more

Love love love this coffee! Such a great price and the flavor is wonderful! Is a dark roast with almost no acid…. True to what it says. My problem is that today I was grinding my beans and there was a small rock in them. Did wonders for my grinder blades! Just wanted to throw that out there. I'm picky about my coffee. I love a good, smooth flavor that is not bitter nor too bold. The best word I have is really that it's all about the taste being smooth yet also rich (in that it tastes like coffee, not hot water). I've found, in general, coffee beans from Mexico fit perfectly. They are my absolutely favorite. I've tried others, and every one falls short from this region (and beans from US... don't get me started, YUCK!). My favorite, in the past, was Ruta Maya, but it's hard to get where I live and expensive on Amazon. After much searching and bargain hunting, I found First Colony awhile back and LOVED it! The taste is smooth, rich with flavor, and delicious! I have a bean to cup coffee maker to give me fresh coffee every day, and this brand is now my new favorite. I highly recommend trying it, you won't be disappointed. I'd veered away awhile cause the price went too high and found one that was pretty good. I was so glad to find this at a lower price point the other day and was quick to snatch it up! If you like a smooth, non-bitter, not sharp taste, you'll love this. If you prefer more of the European taste, this might be too mild for you and you'd want to look for French or, possibly, Italian. That'd be depending on your taste preferences as they are quite different, but I find French & Italian much bolder/sharper/more bitter. I hope this helps! ... show more

This came with no expiration date on the package and is extremely stale. Awful taste I can't even drink it. Took a gamble trying such a large bag for the first time. Huge waste of money.

It was a good priced coffee but they raised the price over $25 from the first time I purchased. Almost doubled in less than a year. Hopefully the price will come back down by the time I need to reorder or I'll find another brand. Was $28. It's now $55.
