  • Great book, not for beginners. Mostly hard songs!
Format: Paperback
Great transcriptions of an awesome set of songs. For the price, it's a great value. The charts are definietly more upper intermediate/advanced level in my opinion. I bought this book to use for teaching beginner drum students, but ended up using it for the more advanced kids who had been playing for 3+ years. If you're a total beginner, I would perhaps find a better suited book. Or buy this and hold on to it for later. Total awesome for what it is though. ... show more

Bought for my Godson - learning to play. My Gen X influence is strong. He was delighted and has gone through each song and is perfecting them all.

  • Great book!
Format: Paperback
As a drummer of 30+ years, this book is packed with great songs for drummers to know. Highly recommend for anyone taking/teaching lessons. The only reason for 4 stars is the binding, which makes it a bit difficult on a music stand. Spiral bound would be much better!

  • Not a “first” situation.
Format: Paperback
I wouldn’t say “first” 50 songs on this title- it misled me to think a beginner could play most of these songs. There are lots that are more for intermediate and advanced players and they aren’t in any beginner to advanced order. The book is bound which makes it difficult to place on the music stand- we have to use top and bottom clips AND- many songs span 2-4 pages. Which means stopping in the middle of a song to turn the page. It’s irritating to do so when attempting solo practice. The good thing is lots of these songs are popular and recognizable. There are a handful of selections my son is trying to learn from this book. ... show more
