The mount it self works great for what i need it for, other then needing to put a wedge to make the antenna straight, but i was aware of that with newer truck beds, other wise the mount is pretty awesome to use, was abit tricky to get into the stake hole, pretty solid to boot, the main issue for the 3 stars is that they sent me the wrong connector for the cable, i had to get in contact with the actual firestik company to get the right connector, they were pretty nice about it, awesome support from the company, american made, ill always stick with firestik, just next time, whoever sends out these kits thru amazon should make sure it has the right cable end connector going to the radio. differently a mount id get next time for doing duels.

It fits a 2005 Ford Ranger Edge series, 6 foot bed. You have to use 1 screw, toss it in the stake hole and then screw it in. It'll align with the other screws and you are good to go. A few complaints: The coax cord you have to solder. I'm horrible at soldering and it looks funky, but it screws in (barely) to my CB Radio. Also, my antenna (Wilson 2000) feels pretty flimsy when it's on it. It's mounted at the top and bottom, but there seems to be a nut in the middle between the antenna bottom and middle that makes my antenna wobbly. Not sure if I could remove that nut without grounding out my antenna or CB. Also, the instructions are horrific. Reading it will give you a headache. I had to basically fumble around for a couple hours tonight to basically just see if trial and error would work. It did.

Worked well. I had to add a ground wire from the chassis because I did not want to scrape off any more paint on the truck to give it a better ground. Once the ground wire was added the antenna was easily able to be tuned.

Works as advertised for my truck with the 5th wheel. Previous reviews indicated you need a 1/8” shim to make up for the roll in the bed rail on newer trucks. This was correct information to have and I used stainless steel washers as a shim.

The machine screws are not heavy enough. I broke a couple if screws trying to get the wobble out. I will buy larger screws and back them with nuts. This should have been done from the factory.

Fantastic mounting plate. Installed it in the driver side front stake hole on my 2006 Ram 2500 truck. It comes in pieces and has to be assembled, including soldering the connector on the cable. At first, I thought that was annoying, but not having hte connector soldered on made it much easier to run cabling into the cab and under the carpet. I would have ended up cutting it off anyway and having to resolder.

Great product. Mounted on passenger side, mid-bed stake hole. On my 2008 Ram 1500 2-door long bed, it wouldn't reach all the way to the back stake hole. No big deal - I could have insert another cable between the transceiver and the this cable if I really was set on it. Paired with a stainless steel spring and the 4 foot Firestik II, my swr was adjusted down to 1:1 on 1, 19, and 40. Seems very sturdy.
