Description

At its most basic level, the FINIS Swimmer's Snorkel for kids allows athletes of any ability to swim at normal and much slower speeds with perfect stability and a full range of motion, without the stress of adding proper breathing techniques. These skills are the most critical aspect for novice level swimmers to master and for advanced swimmers to perfect. The Swimmer's Snorkel places greater emphasis on proper body alignment, as its center-mount design allows athletes to relax in the water and maintain a completely laid out, horizontal position. Swimming smart allows the athlete to adjust his or her stroke to the maximum efficiency. A one-way purge valve allows for clear and easy breathing. The hydrodynamic design when worn with swim goggles promotes proper head and body position. The nose clip (Swimmer's Snorkel Jr. only) teaches the swimmer to breathe only through the mouth while swimming.

I'm almost 50 and trying to get back in shape by swimming. I've been struggling with kick laps for months because they hurt my neck and shoulders so much. I finally caved and bought the snorkel even though I am an experienced swimmer. I used the snorkel for the first time today and it was incredible. I was able to do 30 kick laps. Usually the most I can manage is 10. Using the snorkel really allowed me to keep my body properly aligned and focus on the proper kick technique. I did some pull laps with it too and it worked just fine -- allowed me to focus on correct high elbow catch. So I think this is a great product for training laps where you are focusing on a particular aspect of technique. I can see why some people use nose clips. Getting water up my nose was a bit of an issue after every few laps. But I think I will be able to adjust. I had no problem with the snorkel filling with water. ... show more

    • Fantastic snorkel
I swim 3x a week, at a 50 meter pool, for 30 minutes--pretty much non-stop swimming. I have no problem swimming for a longer period of time, except then my neck gets stiff and painful the next day. When I went to see a chiropractor, his first question was, do I swim. It seems that by turning my head, and keeping it out of the water (yes, bad form, but I got used to swiming that way)-- I was straining my neck needlessly. One day I saw a swimmer in one of the faster lanes, with a snorkel, gliding effortlessly through the water. I looked on Amazon, and saw this product, and decided to order it, based on the positive reviews. Several weeks later, I saw the swimmer again, and got a closer look and saw that he also had the Finis snorkel. I've only used the snorkel once, as our pool was closed for maintenance for a month, and just reopened yeseterday. I was a bit apprehensive at first, how the breathing would work, bumping into other swimmers, etc.,But the headgear was not at all uncomfortable, and I had much better peripheral vision than I had expected. I did wear a nose plug, and swim goggles (not full face mask), so the breathing and swimming was very smooth. ... show more

    • Great for Swimming- Takes Some Getting Used To
This snorkel is great for competitive swimmers on a swim team! At first however, you need to take time to not choke on water. I have had this product for about 2-3 months, and use it almost daily. When doing a flipturn, if you don't hold your breath and then blow the water out of the snorkel aggressively, you will choke on the water when trying to inhale- I learned this the hard way. The only main problem is choking on water when you first using it, and that eventually goes away! The long tube bends and allows for water to come in when you push off the wall aggressively, so you need to be careful about that. The price was definitely a plus, and was recommended by fellow swimmers (I know of other brands that sell snorks, but none were said to be as good as this one). The wear and tear is outstanding- it looks and works as if it's new. My whole team uses only Finis Snorkels, and for good reason. It really is a great product, you just need to become accustomed to it. A+ product! ... show more

    • Great if using goggles instead of a mask
I bought this for snorkeling in Hawaii and it worked great! I have several pairs of prescription goggles leftover from my days as a synchronized swimmer so I was happy to be able to use them with this snorkel. The strap that fits it to your head stayed snug even when pummeled by whitecaps. Also, the tube that runs right between the eyes did not interfere with visibility. Two things to note, though: the strap that goes across your forehead could use more padding for comfort. And if you're wearing this snorkel with goggles, also use a nose clip or your sinuses will fill with water even if you don't try to inhale through your nose. The Pacific was my accidental neti pot on our first snorkeling adventure with this gear but a nose clip fixed it on later outings. ... show more

    • Perfect swim snorkel!
I love this product! My back is fused from shoulders to tailbone, and I can no longer swim on top of the water because I cannot lift my head out high enough to breathe properly. This snorkel has made it possible for me to swim laps again. It’s not as easy to breathe as without a snorkel and so took some getting used to, but I’m excited that I can get back to swimming laps with this product. The mouthpiece is soft and not too large, so it is comfortable to use, and very adjustable in placement. Recommended! ... show more

    • Great lap-swimming snorkel.
Very good swim snorkel. I use for laps in the pool, it allows me to focus on arm technique and rotation, whilst not worrying about breath. it's fairly basic which means not a lot can go wrong or break - perfect for me. I have not tried doing flip turns with it.

I love this snorkel. It is perfect in every way and I'd highly recommend it. Super simple to use: slip one part onto the other and you are ready to swim. Works beautifully. I dunk it into a bowl of sudsy water ( I use Dawn antibacterial dish detergent), rinse and hang on a door knob to dry after each use. Couldn't be easier. ... show more

Improved from 550m in 47 minutes to 1550m in 47 minutes, just by using this snorkel. I suffer from asthma and osteoartritis so the neck movement was terrible for me. Now I can concentrate on the exercise without worrying about running out of oxygen.
