I returned Harbor Freight magnet hooks because they could not support the weight of a cloth rag, so I was looking for something that could do what it looks like it's supposed to do - stay in one place when something gets hung from it. These magnets are really strong. The magnet easily support the weight of a hand towel. I put one each under the hood of each of my automobiles, in case I have to hang a trouble light under the hood sometime.

they are two pieces and have to be put together by screwing the hook into the base, which isn't a big deal but was unexpected and they are a tad smaller than the pic appears but they work very well

These were smaller than expected, I ordered them to hold a very lightweight projector screen on my metal garage door. Even though the screen is basically a large, lightweight sheet, these hooks could not hold it well and kept sliding on the metal.

If you hang these with the hooks straight out then they tend to slide down whatever you have them attached to. Magnet surface is just to smooth. I ended up hanging them underneath a shelf and so far so good. For reference I am using them to hold up a clip board with about 5 sheets of paper on it.
