I will try to be as honest as possible because I depend on other people's reviews and feel I want to help the best I can: Much nicer than expected. Cute lightweight End Table / Night Stand. I think this would be perfect for a child’s room, or a college dorm where a small table with light duty storage is required. I do not think it is heavy duty enough for heavy items to be stored in it. I was quite surprised to realize the drawers and made of a thick fabric, that once unfolded, you slip a stiff fabric covered square of cardboard into to make the bottoms and allow the drawer to keep its shape. But part of my surprise was the fact that the drawers are actually quite nice and work great. I can see the drawers holding stuffed animals, a note pad, pens/pencils, flashlight … any lightweight items you might want to be stored out of sight. In a college dorm I can see it holding an iPad and other school supplies. The receptacles with charger plugs really lend this item to be a perfect night stand. The middle shelf and top shelf feel like printed paper covered composite board of some sort. Once again, that is not a bad thing. I find the color to be pleasing to the eye and it looks as good as most not-real wood products on today’s market. It took me about an hour plus to build it while watching TV at the same time. I’ve built 100’s of these small items so I knew to follow the instructions and to not tighten anything too snuggly until I was sure it was built properly. These items come in many many short pieces so they can make the shipping box as small as possible. I understand and have accepted this to be the way things are now. Here is what I did appreciate the most about it. ALL the pieces were labeled with a small white sticky dot with the black printed letter or number on it. Even the hardware is marked. All the different size bolts/screws are inside tiny sealed bags with the white sticker on it. Hard to screw up with everything so clearly marked. The instructions are EASY and large. WOW I have not experienced that in a while. In fact there is not many typed words at all. It is large full-page drawings showing each step of the build in the correct order with the parts clearly marked with the Letter or Number. It comes with 2 Allen wrenches to fit the bolt heads. One of the Allen wrenches has a small Phillips head screw driver on one end. I used the provided Allen Wrenches for the entire build. But I will admit using that tiny screwdriver head on the end of that Allen wrench go to me and halfway thru the build I grabbed my own small screwdriver to make it so much easier. I also really appreciated every individual part was safely wrapped inside its own clear bag. Not metal parts were banging together to chip paint. The shelfs were protected inside a clear bag AND had plastic corners pressed onto their corners to keep the shelves from any damage also. I should also mention every bag of screws or bolts had ONE extra in case you lost or damaged one when building the stand. Very impressive. I gave this item 5 Stars just based on the impressive instructions and clearly marked parts, and the extras included in an emergency. The stand itself is exactly what I expected it to be. They call it a file cabinet and the large bottom drawer even includes metal bars that would hold hanging file folders, but I would be amazed to see it holding too many heavy files and still functioning as good as it does when empty. It’s not a solid wood piece of furniture that will hold an encyclopedia set of books. But it is a handy and small stand that will hold a bedtime lamp, a charging phone (while charging it) and a bedtime book while keeping a flashlight and other quickly needed items close at hand. This goes together well (decent, not perfect instructions). I'd suggest having your own Philips screwdriver because the one that came was half screwdriver, half allen wrench so it was a little difficult to tighten the screws down. The drawers themselves aren't wood, they are that fabric type of material with cardboard supports inside. It looks nice, but I probably won't put TOO many files or heavy things in them because I don't think it'll support it. I didn't connect the power unit yet because I haven't decided which side I want it on yet, but it does work. Overall I'd say this is a nice product. ... show more

For the price I would say this is an excellent buy. I'm personally using it in my office to place my phone on (it will charge your phone also), a desktop calendar and using the drawers for storage. I'm not sure what they are using for the "wood" but it isn't particle board which never moves well without getting messed up. This genuinely feels like hardwood underneath, but whatever it is, it is far better than the typical particle board. The drawers are cloth but the way they are designed they are very sturdy and can handle a decent amount of weight. Putting it together, I would take half a star off for this one. The instructions aren't bad, and I did read through them all to get an idea of how to put it together, however there are a couple of thing the instructions aren't clear on and I did have to take a couple things off and put them on together a different way in order for it to turn out the way it should. I wish I could explain it, but don't tighten anything too tight until you are finished and it's together the way it should be. You have a choice of putting on wheels or just having feet for it being stationary. The wheels aren't that sturdy so don't be expecting to put 50 pounds of files in the bottom drawer and expecting the wheels to last. If you are putting heavy items in this you will want to use the feet. I'm not knocking the rating down because of that because you have the option. As I mentioned, the drawers are a cloth like material but I like the fact that they print them to match whatever finish you chose. I chose the rustic brown and the drawers will fool people into thinking they are wood, even fairly close to the stand, but they are cloth and that keeps the costs down. Like many people, I've purchased plastic file cabinets from a major store and I've had far too many fiberboard cabinets over the years and this is much better than any of those and an excellent price to boot. For what this is made from, it is sturdy. Easy to put together. One thing the directions fail in, they do not identify "front" and "back" in the picture descriptions. I put two of the slide out brackets on in thre wrong direction- not a huge deal, just take screws out and put it back correctly, just would save some time. I am disappointed that standard files do not fit in the file drawer- that was the biggest reason I wanted this. If I can switch the hanging apparatus around it might work, but doesn't seem like it would fit in the drawer if I do that. Also, my printer is deeper than this, so it hangs over the edges a bit, but still sturdy. Comes with coasters or just regular feet, which is a nice option.
