These loose tenons are made for use mortises made by the Festool DF 700EQ. The machine and the tenons are top notch. I've made large doors and large tables using the Domino machine and using these Domino Beech Tenons. Together, they make mortise & tenon joinery that is fast, strong and easy to do. These Beech Tenons fit the mortise perfectly. One trick I've learned is to lightly sand the little rib on the edge of these, which makes them insert a bit more easily, while still holding extremely well. This is especially helpful for "dry fitting", because if you don't remove that little ridge, it's very hard to pull your pieces back apart to do the actual glue up. Having 14mm DOMINOS on hand is a good thing for me. The beech DOMINO is a standard go-to. I make other 14mm DOMINOS when I need them based on their application.... but the process can be slow because it takes time to tool-up. Once started.... you can produce hundreds of them using all kinds of scrap. The tooling is readily available. But as in ALL NATURAL PRODUCTS.... you need to store DOMINOS in sealed plastic bags so moisture doesn't have a chance to mess with them. And to counteract that there is a 'sizing gauge' available. ... show more

I have had the 500 for about 6 or 7 years and the results were excellent. When I found out about this one I couldn't wait for a project to use it on. When I did it was a 6" X 16" beam truss job that needed something to hold the peak miters together after assembly and WOW. Although only a month after and we are still on the job there is no daylight at all to be seen through the miters. Too cool. ... show more
