I used as directed, and prompted by AI, as this will kill any plant it touches. The stumps I wanted to remove are not coming back. I wanted something that I could use among other plants, and when used carefully this does the trick. I would suggest that they applicator be included, something like a shoe polish sponge, to make it easier to apply without spilling. Easy to use, effective, and a good value for the price. This stuff does seem to work very well to kill buckthorn. I haven't seen any new stems sprouting from stumps I've treated. I've treated several ranging from under an inch up to about 3 inches diameter. HOWEVER I have one gripe about this product that I find unacceptable. The cap is not water tight! I think it is reasonable to expect that a hazardous chemical such as this would have a cap that does not leak. I'm assuming that it is just a defect with this particular bottle and maybe my review will get the attention of someone who can do a quality control check and make sure the issue isn't widespread. Buck Thorn is notoriously difficult to kill off. You need to paint the stump within 30-40 minutes of cutting, or the stump seals itself off. I have a 100% success rate with this. 7 years and counting. Use it properly and it never grows back.

Didn’t always get the job done on the first try. Had to go back and repeat the process more than once on about half of the small 3-6 inch stumps I had. Worked much better one smaller volunteer trees is 2 inches or less in diameter.

Bought this for saplings and some larger volunteer bushes growing into trees. Painted the stumps as directed several months ago and so far very few have sprouted- probably some I missed. Seems to work as intended.

This did not work at all. Last October we cut all the limbs and the trunks off of 3 invasive honeysuckle bushes, then applied this immediately on the freshly cut stumps per the directions. By April they started growing back with new shoots and now in June, all are nearly same size as before we cut them back. FAIL! now I need to find a new product and start over plus its too late to request a refund, don't waste your money. ... show more
