  • Nice quality pickguard, looks very sharp - used to upgrade Indio HSS Strat
I bought this pickguard for a HSS Indio classic off-brand Strat for a couple of reasons. I upgraded to an Obsidian solderless wiring kit, and the knobs did not fit the stock Indio pickguard. Secondly, the Fender pickguard is well-made - it's 3-ply and has shielding installed across the entire inner portion of the pickguard, unlike the Squier/Indio pickguards that have very little shielding tape on them. For those who might purchase one of these to upgrade their HSS Indio guitars (especially if you decide to buy an Obsidian for it), a couple of notes. The rear of the pickguard that fits underneath the neck will need to be dremel'ed in order to fit properly, otherwise it'll overlap the trem and not sit flush on the guitar body. Shave about 1/8" off material off the neck edge of the pickguard, or use a trial & error method to get it to fit. Once it clears the tremolo, most of the pickguard screw holes will not line up (some will though). Simply screw down the holes that line up and use a small drill bit to take care of the rest. The Obsidian solderless wiring kit will NOT line up with the tone/volume knob holes in the Indio stock pickguard, but it lines up perfectly with this Fender pickguard. Overall an easy install and looks sharp on my cheap-o Indio HSS Strat. ... show more

  • Exactly what I need.
Already shielded, fits and looks great.

  • Not OEM Product
I purchased the guard listed “AS” a Fender product however it ended up being “FOR” a Fender product instead. Pricing reflected the misinterpretation and product would work out just fine for a non fanatic.

  • Fits Squier Strats Like A Glove
Almost no issues. The Fender humbucker screw-hole setup is different but I just drilled a small hole between the two on that one side and it works just fine. The fit around the single coils is TIGHT. If you are moving the pickups up or down, you'll have to pull or push the pickups by hand while adjusting them or file out the openings a bit. I just set them where I wanted and left it along. Screw holes all lined up perfectly. Worth every penny. ... show more

  • Great Replacement Just Like The Original
I wanted to replace my stock white pick guard with this one simply for aesthetics. I ordered a Fender replacement because I had wanted to match the black I have as the body on my guitar plus I read something about dimensions and materials being off with other brands. The Fender brand though was right on the mark and exactly like what I had except for the different color obviously which is exactly what I wanted. ... show more

  • Be careful
I ordered this only to discover it only is drilled for humbucker pickups with one mounting hole on one side and two on the other. Also it is drilled for uncovered humbuckers not covered so covered will not fit. Had to drill it out but it didn't look professional so I replaced it.
