I have an 1988 Toyota pickup that I replaced the valve cover gasket on. This one fit the bill perfect. It fits tightly in the groove on the valve cover, the half moons fit perfectly as well. I would suggest you get some RTV sealant and use some where the half moons meet the engine block and the corners where they meet the gasket. Just one drop on each corner of the half moons. The 4 rubber gaskets on top holding the valve cover fit perfectly as well. The nuts only need to be tightened to around 4 ft lbs for a 22r ... show more

    • Best gasket for this engine 22RE
I was very happy with this gasket kit for my 1985 Toyota 22RE motor. The valve cover is difficult to get back on the engine and I was concerned the rubber gasket would slip off the groove. It did not and sealed perfectly. The half Moon gaskets also went on flawlessly. And the nut gaskets as well.

    • Got the job done
Recently installed on my 1985 Toyota pickup. End caps required a little manipulation and some extra sealant, but they sat flush when the cover was installed and torqued. No vacuum leaks and was good to go. I would have appreciated the inclusion of a PCV grommet which I had to order separate.

I just installed this set not long ago, but am replacing the timing chain and will be removing the valve cover again. It is made of high quality rubber, and should be fine to use again, but i don't want to risk a leak so i bought another one. Felpro makes an amazing product, i have been using Felpro gaskets since i was a kid in high school working on my hotrods. This gasket set is no exception, a direct fit for my 1995 Toyota 22RE engine, everything fit as it should, and i have had zero leaks. The gaskets work, but it is not formed. You WILL fight to get the cover on with the gasket in place.
