Yes, I too am someone who rarely writes a review - this product is certainly deserving! A few months back, I fell on the ice, hurting my back. I tried a month of bedrest, and everything got worse. I didn't realize that I had a fractured and dislocated L1 vertebrae, and ended up in the hospital for 9 days after my spinal cord swelled outside of my spinal column and paralyzed my right hip, leg, and foot - terrifying. After several types of epidural shots in my back and resetting the vertebrae, I was discharged in a wheelchair for a month of home PT and OT. Half way through and still bedridden, I was ready to explore other options. I researched back brace options all over Google and Bing for review lists and finally Amazon customer reviews. All pointed me to name brand medical braces, but I was concerned because several comments expressed concern that while medical grade, the velcro broke down quickly, making the brace useless. I read the reviews for this product, and I admit, I was enticed by the "Oh my god!" comments and others who commented on how well it worked. I ordered one on Memorial Day Sunday and was stunned that it arrived on Memorial Day. I can only say that this has changed my life from day #1. I was in between sizes (1/2 inch over) and went with the smaller size, which is more than adequate and actually preferred because I can continue to use it as I "downsize" with a back injury and I find that it allows me to better tighten up the brace (the video shows a ~100 lbs woman just about wrapping around to her back). I kid you not, as soon as I put it on, I was able to stand. With much amazement and a walker, I found that I could walk with manageable pain. After a couple of hours and with the necessary safety buddy, I was able to walk downstairs and made it to the pool for some much needed weightless floating relief. It was a joy after so many months of lying flat on my back. For the first time in several months, today I have been able to sit all day at my home desk and work from home, the day after I received this brace. I am so optimistic, I intend to work in the office on Thursday - ambitious maybe, but this was exactly what I was needed to reclaim my life and have hope that I will get better and that this is now manageable, even if I have to use my granny walker for a while longer. I know that there are a lot of sham reviews on Amazon - please check that I am a verified user. I can't give high enough feedback for this item. It is very good quality - sturdy, but without being restrictive at a desk. The velcro is very high quality, and the ability to tighten the brace with the two side straps allows you to tighten them when you need them and loosen them when you need a break or need to adjust. I really just can't believe that after a few weeks of home PT and OT, this product was the only thing that has helped me to get out of bed in months. Wow! I just can't say enough good things, beyond sincerely thank you - this has saved my hope and is helping me to recover my health. Just the best - don't look anywhere else! ... show more

It was a little warm to wear but; I had so much support. I went to a medium sized outdoor market today first time wearing. I was able to walk through the whole thing and never had to sit down! Never got out of breath from trying to support my back and big belly. Even carried on multiple conversations with friends we met at the market with out becoming breathless. Then went to the grocery and was able to stand up properly and not hold on to the cart to hold myself up. Helped carry in groceries and was able to put them away and before going to sit down and rest like I normally would after putting away groceries; I was able to go to the laundry room and unload the washer and start the dryer and put a new load in the washer. The material and the velcro are great. It will fit to get the right size. And a sturdy it will support your back, however sitting down in it it will roll some and then you have to readjust it or I have to readjust it when I stand up. Some back relief for me anyway . I am shocked at the price considering the quality. Most products find ways to be disappointing. It fits just right around my waist but im finding that for comfort while seated, I want to put it lower; actually on my upper hips, and it is just barely long enough for that.

Overall I’m pleased with this brace. It stays in place, is easy to put on and remove and doesn’t seem to roll over from moving / bending. The included lumber piece is pointless as it’s just a flat solid piece with no thickness / padding. Otherwise I would recommend this over others with inferior Velcro. I am so happy with this well made and great design of this back and lumbar brace. It took me several times and fails, to get it on right and read the directions several times and finally I can put it on in minutes now. I can now stand up straight when I am cooking, cleaning up the dishes or household chores, like running the vacuum, and making my bed. NO PAIN. You can sit with it as well, and just loosen the outer belts to loosen the fit, it is well worth the value I purchased it for. Very easy to hand clean, I do it in my shower, and let it drip dry. I showed three of these from Amazon to my doctor and we picked this one for my condition after looking over the recent MRI. I recommend you doing that as there are several that are very similar. Injuries my back at work awhile ago. I’ve been working out etc. and that helps but still do a lot of heavy lifting at work. This has provided immense back support. This type of Velcro strap has a good grip and doesn’t pile from over use. The hard plastic triangle thingy surprisingly give a lot of support and doesn’t dig into my skin. I’m only regret is that I didn’t listen to the suggestions and get the correct size. I bought a sm/med when I should have gotten the large instead. I wear a large/size 12 in women. The belt barely closes (2-3 inch overlap). I feel like it kinda rides up my waist BUT it’s probably because I got a small size. I don’t have much room to adjust the belt. I’ve contemplated ordering a new one in the correct size since I’ve already used the one I bought several times….yeah, I probably will and use the smaller one at home during yard work. ... show more
