Materials: This is a queen comforter with the external fabric stated to be 100% cotton and it does seem like it is 100% cotton. The product page stated this was a down comforter at the time I ordered it. No details were given on the type of down used, and when it arrived, it was in a compacted flat state for shipping. I placed it in my clothes dryer with wool dryer balls and fluffed it up for 20 minutes and then it did get puffy and fluffy (see photos). I can feel the stiff feathers poking when I squeeze it, and it is a little crunchy with the filling. However no feathers poke out at me, they are only felt if squeezed. I am comparing this to an L.L. Bean goose down comforter. That goose down comforter filling is only fluff down and it does not have any stiff parts of the feather. I suspect that this is a duck down filling which typically has the stiff feather parts included. Cost: duck down products costs less than goose down. The current price of an L.L. Bean goose down comforter is more than three times the cost of this “down comforter” as it was listed on the day that I ordered. If you want the low price of a duck down comforter read on about the performance. Performance: my goose down comforter is sometimes too hot for me in my climate in the winter. In the middle of the night, I switched from using my goose down comforter (which felt too hot at that moment) to this product in order to product test it. This comforter is still very insulating and comfortable and warm (it was less hot than the hose down but still very insulating and nice). It’s just not as hot as my L.L. Bean goose down comforter (which I actually liked).. Overall opinion: this is a very nice and warm white fabric comforter with an unstated type of down filling. The price is low. This is a bargain price for a warm down comforter for use in the winter. Longevity: A duvet cover can be added to help keep the comforter clean and to reduce washings of the actual down comforter, you can remove the duvet cover and wash the duvet cover regularly while not putting the down comforter through the washing machine (which will prolong the down life). I am happy to use this comforter for winter use in my climate and appreciate the low cost.

This is a real feather down comforter, which is such a luxury item that I feel lucky to have found. This isn’t as thick as ones I’ve had in the past, but it still is relatively warm. This makes for a comfortable insert to any duvet to help keep your temperature more even during the winter months. The size is a normal queen sized comforter.
