I ordered two bookshelves. on a positive note, the color is exactly what I was looking for. In assembling the bookshelves, I had two very different experiences. The first one was fine and using the online "how to" video, the assembly was do-able. The second bookshelf was a different story. To begin, the box had major damage; there was damage to one of the long sides of the bookshelf; and on the top piece, the plastic insert where the screw pin goes was not inserted straight so when I put in the screw pin, it would not go in straight. It does not hold as much as I expected. Less than the 5 shelf bookcase that I was replacing. Middle shelves are adjustable but I could only make some tall enough for my journals and and to place others horizontally.

I have an office that has slanted ceilings on the top floor and this was able to fit in the one tall space I had! It was absolutely necessary for all of my books for work and other personal items. The assembly was easy and it's pretty stable!

It appears I might have gotten one that was returned. Some of the dowels had already tried to be installed and were cock-eyed. I got it all together, went to put the top on and realized I was missing the inserts that lined it up. It's made of particleboard but the grey looks REALLY good. If I had the inserts I would have given it 5 stars despite the cheapness of material. ... show more
