The compass charm contains a beautiful heart shaped clear CZ stone in the center and it is decorated with opal strip across the top of the compass charm and it is inscribed across the bottom with "I'd be lost without you". This necklace is very pretty. There is something mesmerizing about opal and this necklace has an inlay that captures the light and dances with a multitude of colors. The compass theme of the design makes this a great gift idea for many occasions. Its not overly expensive, and the symbolism of the compass can be a statement that stands alone. The center stone is big but it compliments the charm perfectly. It's not a thick stone and blends into the design essentially drawing the eye to the compass rather than the stone. This is a gorgeous compass necklace. It is eye-catching. The pendant is a little smaller than the size of a quarter and hangs from a sterling silver chain (with a lobster clasp closure). The round pendant is accented by opal (at the top) and tiny stones. In the center is a clear stone (I picked the clear, but you can select your birth month). The directions are etched and indicated in the 4 corners of the outer circle (N, E, S, W), flanked by the words “I’d be lost without you” (at the bottom of the compass). The media could not be loaded. This piece is a joy to wear! I absolutely adore the opal and it goes well with some of my other opal jewelry. It is very shiny and the gem in the middle has a fantastic sparkle. This thing really sparkles all around actually… and it is the perfect size to made it subtle but just noticeable. I love the details in the compass like the N, S, E W and the little nautical star type design. I am very impressed. This is indeed sterling silver as advertised. I was impressed by the center cz, its beautiful, and the pendant and stone are the perfect size. The simulated opal accent on the top is good quality too. The chain is a good length, and the necklace was well packaged. They even included a little gift bag to put the box in. Love this compass necklace! I actually like it's smaller size. And I simply adore how that little diamond-like gem in the middle is very sparkly. It's so sparkly that I was having difficulty taking a photo of this pendant without that middle lighting up. This gem is made of 5A-grade cubic zirconia (CZ) and it really shows. It's well-cut to show such brilliance, fire, and lustre. Probably 1 of the best CZ gems I own. I'm not a big fan of CZ really but I can appreciate a good gem when I see one.
