I don't use wax melts much in the summer and when I do they're usually floral ones. I look forward to autumn's cooler weather coming on about mid-September because that's when I want wax melts that smell like baked goods and other sweet things. I also like the outdoorsy blends that are vaguely campfire-ish. This set of 8 has all of those things as well as a couple of what I think of as "mood blends" that don't smell like anything in particular but whatever's been mixed together smells good. These melts are the standard size like you'd find at Wall of the Mart and they're just as strongly scented as the ones I've purchased there. The divisions between cubes are deep enough to make it easy to break off a cube evenly. Each cube gives a solid 10 hours of scent in the electric warmer/melter I use. I live in a ranch house and one cube melting at each end of the house perfumes the whole space while the warmer is turned on and the scent lingers for several hours after I've turned it off which I think is really decent longevity. I think this is a pretty good value for 8 packs of different fragrances, all of which I like very much. Interestingly, pumpkin would usually be my least favorite but this pumpkin reminds me more of carrot cake and it's quite nice. Would make a fantastic gift for someone who uses wax melts.

Very strong. Oof, the minute it arrived it hit you. There are just at least two in the set that have creative names which is cute and don't have a problem with you doing that. Could have done that with whole set for consistency... but then those ones there was nothing we found to say what the scent was supposed to be. There was a paper with ingredients but it was a catch all for all the scents so..... not helpful. Had to guess but wasn't clear... and we had differing opinions. So yeah, my autistic self didn't like the inconsistency of only a couple having fun scent names for the theme.... and them neither mom nor I liked the transparency of what the fun scents were supposed to be..... But overall a nice set of scents.

I was both nervous and excited to give these wax melts a blind try. As anyone that uses wax melts and warmers in their home can attest to, there can be an extreme difference between what one company presents and another. The same or very similar fragrances just don't even compare quite often. This batch of melts by SNOWSEN has fragrances very similar to BHG and Yankee Candle, minus the scent throw and staying power. Though I could find a similar scent to compare each of these to, it was like comparing these melts to melts by other brands that I had already used because the scent was so weak right out of the packaging. This was quite disappointing because these are good fragrances that absolutely want to scream "FALL", but instead they just kind of mumble. The price point for these is almost fair. Considering I pay about $2 a pop for BHG melts, and they command the room even if they don't last as long as I'd like, these melts should be in the ballpark of $1-$1.50, maximum. $12 would be more reasonable for wax melts that smell nice but perform disappointingly. $8 and I wouldn't feel anything negative because it'd be more "You get what you pay for.". UPDATE: I tried again because I'm nothing if not persistent. Well, I can't say I was completely disappointed but still not worth the money in my opinion. I,am raising my review by a star because these are better than the last but I really wish I could go by half stars.

As I write this review, it is August 2—not the time of year to be warming up my house with unnecessary heat sources like scented wax warmers. However, I've given these wax packets a sniff test and can say that I'm very excited about using them once fall rolls around. My main evaluation criterion for scented wax is how much scent you can get out of it, and so far, I'm impressed. Rather than putting a cube into a dedicated warmer, I set one in a dish on top of my toaster oven, so it could get a little bit of action when I was cooking. It has barely melted during the 3-5 cooking sessions it's been privy to, but every so often, I catch a whiff of the snickerdoodle scent when I'm walking by, even when the toaster oven is completely cool. That, to me, is a sign of an appropriately strong scent. The 8-piece set also offers a nice variety of autumn-coded aromas. Most are food-based, but there is that single "pine" variety to round it out. If you're a Scentsy afficionado like I am, I believe you'll be impressed with these SNOWSEN branded scented waxes.
