  • Awesome piece of gear
This LPVO is built like a tank. All hardware is solid and you will really enjoy the ease of mounting your scope in the cantilever mount with included levels. The glass is crystal clear and the illumination excellent during the day although I prefer to leave it off. How Tacticon can offer this amazing scope for the price, I can't imagine. I was hesitant but took a chance on this purchase and was not disappointed. Great gear. Solid construction. I will be a return customer . ... show more

  • Worth every cent!
This scope being in the budget range is a steal. If you’re looking at getting a magnifier for your red dot these 1-4 lpvo’s are the way to go. These are perfect for home defense and keeping rodents out of your yard. I started switching over from dedicated red dots to these last year when my eyesight really started getting bad, I own a G3 monstrum and a Primary SLx both cost roughly $100 more than this and are very popular in the “budget” realm. This scope holds its own when I compared all three this weekend. What I like, First off this thing is ready to go out of the box, rings are included and a set of box bubble levels come with it. This was a nice touch because entry level usually means first time users and having to buy those little levels may not be expensive it just adds time and most people would probably try and “eyeball” it. This seems to be a very solid scope, these are pop up turrets that are tight and lock solid. They are quite but still very tactile, being able to rest zero is nice as well. The glass is very good out to the 200yd range I used it at, it was actually more clear than the G3 and on par with the SLx After a few hundred rounds of .556 and 300blk out of 12.5 barrels it held zero fine. The reticle is very pronounced during the day even my bad eyes had no issues picking it up. Eye relief at 1x is pretty darn good, much better’s than the other 2 I have. At 4x it’s not as forgiving as the SLx but better than the G3. Illumination is fantastic on this thing, it’s way better than both of my other scopes. The G3 is illumination is almost useless during the day. What I don’t like, At $125 it’s hard to find anything wrong with this scope that you wouldn’t expect out of a sub$300 LPVO but there are a few things. The throw handle is annoying, just make that knurled piece a little bigger. You have to turn the illumination all the way off, I like the off feature between settings but this was probably sacrificed to keep costs down. Probably a good choice there. No green option, I personally don’t care what color but options are nice. No stickers! You’ve got the coolest name and a cool logo get some stickers in the box. Shooters are like car guys and we love stickers. Who doesn’t love stickers. I am definitely grabbing another one for my carbine and giving my G3 to my daughter who likes the green option. ... show more

  • Can't beat it for the price!
I got this to put on my PSA KS-47 gen 2 7.62x39 AR AK variant for deer, hogs, and varmints. I figured it would work until I get something better. On a really tight budget, so it was something like this, or a cheap red dot. For the job, a red dot was less than optimal. I saw the reviews, and figured I'd take a chance on the Tacticon scope since LPVO scopes at 1x are almost as fast as a red dot, but can give better hunting accuracy at 100 to 200 yards than red dots can. I didn't have any great expectations expectations for this scope. My last LPVO was a Leopold VX 1.5 to 5 Variable, and it was great, but they are also out of my price range at the moment. I have a cheap Bushnell 3x9x40 variable that came on my Savage Axis .308, and it's serviceable, but looks and feels cheap. But hey, it works! If it doesn't break before I can get something better, I'll probably put it on a .22 or other low recoil rifle. I figured that this Tacticon scope would be about the same, and have a similar fate. Much to my surprise, this scope neither looks nor feels cheap. Not the best glass I've ever seen, but not too bad at all. Everything is finished well. No blemishes. Scope glass is clear, and image is bright. The reticle is sharp and easy to see and use, either lit or not. All the knobs and controls are tight but smooth. One thing of note: When adjusting point of aim, YOU MUST pull UP (or OUT) on the KNOBS then turn them to shift the point of aim! I've seen this in other reviews, and some others who complained about the knobs not WORKING because they DIDN'T PULL THE KNOBS! When done correctly, you get very nice tactile and audible clicks for each interval. Not sure what you get otherwise, don't think it would end well though. The only real complaint I have so far, is that I wish they would add the above info into the instructions page they send with it, or make it more prominent. That, and the battery could use some explanation as well. I think their video on YouTube tells you which way to put it in, but I don't think the instructions do. Also, the battery cap is a PITA to get back on with the battery in. At least, I had problems with it. It didn't seem to want to re-engage the VERY FINE threads so I could screw it back on. I worried that I might strip it out. Sighting in was easy at 25 yards. After mounting the scope, which was easy following the video, I checked it with a laser bore scope, which showed it to be a bit low, and to the right. At the range, it was exactly that. About 6" low, and 2" to the right. Not bad right out of the box! I've seen much worse... I sighted it in during late afternoon, and finished about 15 minutes before sunset - without ever using the illumination, or feeling the need to illuminate the reticle. Even in near sundown light with the sun behind trees, the scope was bright, and the non-illuminated reticle was clear, sharp, and easy to see. While 30 Russian in an AR platform is not a high recoil cartridge, no shift in point of aim was noted. I can't wait to get out to a 100 yard range and see what it can do in some serious paperwork. However, even sighted in at the range I have it set to, I'm sure it will be able to make the fairly short range shots I need to deal with the coyotes, pigs and other varmints I have out on the farm, where due to trees, a 100 yards is about the longest range you are going to get. All in all, for the price, this scope (so far ...) seems to be a much better scope than you would expect. YES, it's made in China for an American company. I'm NOT thrilled about ANYTHING being made in China, but, so is the computer or phone you're reading this on! Keep in mind, if you want something made, and you call up a decent manufacturer (they do have some... After all, they make all the computers, TVs, stereos, etc. They also make their own fighter jets, space craft, missiles, and nuclear reactors. So they CAN make good things if they want to) anyway, you give them the specifications for a quality item, they are very capable of making it, and doing it cheaper than just about anyone else. I used to work in quality control for a major computer chip manufacturer. The definition of quality, is conformance to the specification! Are a Mercedes, a Yugo, and a Ford all of equal quality? It depends on how closely they meet their SPECIFICATIONS. A Mercedes that fails to meet it's specs can be a lemon, even if most of it is well made. A Yugo, that meets it's specs can be considered a quality vehicle, for a Yugo. It's all in the specifications, the quality (specifications) of the materials, and whether they have quality (yeh, you get it) assembly, of good quality components. I have to say, I think from what I have seen so far, that Tacticon is using better specs than most if not all in the price range they are marketing to. Every company has to start somewhere. Could they have decided to put out a much better scope, and charged a higher price for it? Yep, but they would sell far fewer of them. Will update later if it goes badly. ... show more

  • Great optic for $100. Shooting for fun? Buy it.
Figured I’d try this budget LPVO. Support the troops. I’ve been shooting rifles and buying scopes for over 25 years. I Mounted this on a .223 AR to replace an old red dot. It was so nice to have everything you need come in one box. Everything. Nicely packed and seems pretty high quality for the price. Installed super easy. Eye relief is very generous. Glass is very clear, black etched crosshairs and nice red illumination has a dozen settings, flip up dust caps are pretty decent, and it has pop up locking resettable turrets. Nice. Quite a few features for such a low priced optic. Simple duplex style reticle with some MIL hashes. I like the big uncluttered sight picture. Works Great for plinking and paper out to 100 yards with just keeping crosshairs on your target. Only nit pick is zoom knob is super stiff. But it is brand new. I hope it holds zero and is durable enough to last for years to come. Is it a high end big $$$ scope.. no. Is it a $300 Vortex nice? Pretty close. Very happy with it so far. ... show more
