I broke yet another mirror and ordered this one. I am happy with the purchase. And I am less likely to knock it over or drop it because it has a stand. Just the right magnification, no frightening images. Well, a bit frightening.

This is a sturdy little mirror, which is the perfect size for a bathroom counter or vanity table. The acrylic frame is also just right for wet or damp areas like the bathroom, since you won't have to worry about rust or the finish deteriorating as you might with a metal frame. So why the 2 star rating? Because unfortunately, the 10X magnification gives a very distorted image. By distorted, I mean it is very blurry and out of focus unless you hold the mirror right up to your face. When I tried to use the mirror on the counter (sitting in front of it), the distortion and blurriness was enough to make me slightly dizzy! (No kidding, the focus was that bad.) Was this just me? My eyesight perhaps? Maybe. But whatever the reason, I'm unable to use the mirror. I'm still rating it 2 stars because of the price, the fact that it seems well made, and because other reviewers didn't seem to have this problem. Still, I had to base my review on how the mirror worked for me, so 2 stars it is. ... show more

This is a nice mirror and the 1X magnification is clear and perfectly usable. I was unprepared for the fact that the 10X magnification is very difficult to use. The strong magnification shows the reflection upside down until you get it very close to your face, when it turns right-side up and is very blurry to me. We did some research and found that the physics of reflection does this at 10X magnification. Had I known this, I would have searched harder for a 2X or 3X magnification instead. ... show more

Both sides of the mirror are so crisp and clear, it's like looking at a doppelganger of yourself in the flesh. Magnification is no joke... unless you are wanting an in-depth look at pores and hair follicles, you may want to go for 5x-8x magnification instead (this one is far too magnified for things like makeup application). But an extreme closeup look is exactly what we wanted, so we are completely satisfied with this item. ... show more

This is a great mirror. Nice looking and stays in one place as you adjust mirror. Unfortunately for me I needed a 20x- I had cataract surgery and can not see anything up close. Mirror looks like it would have cost alot more.

This would have been a nice addition to my bathroom, but is made very poorly. The regular 1X magnification side is fine, but flip it over to the 10X and it's very blurry. Not to mention, my image was upside down! Kinda hard to do anything when my chin is where my forehead should be in the reflection. Don't recommend. It's inexpensive, which is all well and good, but you get what you pay for, which in this case is a poorly made product. ... show more
