Pony up and spend the extra 5$ these shorts are excellent. The inner liner is the best ive tried and a truer compression style . Ive returned 3 different off brand shorts ,looking for the right fit ,material, size trying to spend as little as possible and be happy. That said ,they were all constructed well. All the sub 23 dollar shorts are a loose poly weave and that snags easily,all those shorts were sized small, i had to order a size larger, their liner not a true compression type liner but more a loose sleeve. All the off brand had shallow pockets ,some more than others. In the Fabeletic short the pockets are deep, there is no better short for the money, my only small complaint is no drawstring Thats it.

Waistband was too big for me and there's no drawstring to tighten them...I'd rather them be tighter than looser if there's no drawstring. Otherwise, they look and feel like nice gym shorts.

These are a great price, for what would cost a lot more in stores, and are comparable in quality to other brands that sell for a lot more. I ordered three pairs in the same size and length but as you can see, the grey ones are a lot smaller and shorter. I guess that's why they are marked down so much, clearly a defect. Very annoying because I wanted to order more in other colors but I'm not sure if they were going to be the correct size or not. I also got the Bone color, which is a very nice color, but they are practically seethrough. If you plan to get these, I can only recommend the black color.

What's good: the materials for the shorts are light and seem to be well sewn. The pockets are deep enough to be useful. The compression liner works. But that's the end of the positives in my opinion. Drawbacks: the shorts are tight for size. I wear Under Armour, Nike and Adidas shorts regularly with Speedo and Head thrown in for some activities. These shorts are a size smaller than any of my other shorts. The rise (crotch to waistband) seems less than my other shorts as well. And if you have a belly, you will get waistband rollover from these, most likely. First, because they're comparatively short-waisted. Second, because there is no drawstring (inside or out). The stretchy waistband might accommodate you if you buy a size up. If not, the lower, tighter position with no way to cinch it means it will likely roll over. Frustrating. If you're looking for a "slim" fit short, then these might actually fit you. I wouldn't recommend them any other way.

Was time to toss my Lulu’s and found these to replace. Very happy with my choice. Great price point. I like a workout short with a liner. Was concerned about the no drawstring waistband but it is not a problem. The waistband is the right width and strength.
