Pony up and spend the extra 5$ these shorts are excellent. The inner liner is the best ive tried and a truer compression style . Ive returned 3 different off brand shorts ,looking for the right fit ,material, size trying to spend as little as possible and be happy. That said ,they were all constructed well. All the sub 23 dollar shorts are a loose poly weave and that snags easily,all those shorts were sized small, i had to order a size larger, their liner not a true compression type liner but more a loose sleeve. All the off brand had shallow pockets ,some more than others. In the Fabeletic short the pockets are deep, there is no better short for the money, my only small complaint is no drawstring Thats it.

I used this product for personal training and loungewear. It’s a nice product with great pocket space. The liner on the inside makes it easy to choose between going commando and being fully clothed. They look great and typically I wear a 32 or 33 waist in jeans but a large actually cinched around my waist perfectly.

Don't get me wrong, the build quality is fantastic. The fabric is good quality, and the fit is perfect. Here is my problem: 1. The pockets are not the greatest, a little shallow and I have low confidence in my phone being safe. 2. There is a lack of a drawstring. Normally this would be a good thing, but depending on your body shape, the lack of drawstring can make the waistband not able to stay in the right position on your waist. 3. There is a phone pocket in the bike short portion, but if you use it, the loose fabric of the short above is tight enough that you have to lift the short up to your crotch to reveal the pocket for said access to the phone pocket. Combined with the lack of waistband, the phone's weight causes the shorts to slip downward while running which can be quite disconcerting. 4. For the price, I expect better.

I have a similar pair from the manufacturers website. These seem of lower quality or they changed the fit recently. I bought a small from the manufacturer and loved them except they were slightly too small. When I saw these were on sale I jumped on getting a new pair. These are a size up but The lining is thinner and less fitted. The medium is a little too big.

I was very skeptical about this brand, but finally got my first pair of shorts. 10x better than all the Nike/Reebok stuff I own. Fit exactly how I wanted, and sizing was on point. They breath, they stretch, and they just feel amazing! Worst thing you can do is not try them.

What's good: the materials for the shorts are light and seem to be well sewn. The pockets are deep enough to be useful. The compression liner works. But that's the end of the positives in my opinion. Drawbacks: the shorts are tight for size. I wear Under Armour, Nike and Adidas shorts regularly with Speedo and Head thrown in for some activities. These shorts are a size smaller than any of my other shorts. The rise (crotch to waistband) seems less than my other shorts as well. And if you have a belly, you will get waistband rollover from these, most likely. First, because they're comparatively short-waisted. Second, because there is no drawstring (inside or out). The stretchy waistband might accommodate you if you buy a size up. If not, the lower, tighter position with no way to cinch it means it will likely roll over. Frustrating. If you're looking for a "slim" fit short, then these might actually fit you. I wouldn't recommend them any other way.

These fit me well personally and I say "personally" because these do not have a drawstring to tighten just in case if were to fit a little loose. These have a liner on the inside which fits well or bunch up. Really good quality shorts. These were on sale which is why I pulled the trigger and good thing I ordered 2!
