I have been using this leash for a few months, and I have to say every day that goes by I like it more. Whenever I switch to a traditional leash, I end up low-key frustrated. I've always been a walker, and I hate to even have purses with me (typically I carry backpacks when I must) my point is, I like having my hands available, you never know when you'll need them. The leash is precisely the length it needs to be for my pup keeping a steady pace next to me. I can easily coil the leash 3 times in my hand when I need to have a tight grip on her. In other reviews I've seen this as a "bad" thing, but I actually love that when she pulls, she pulls me entirely, cause let's be real, it is easier to stop her with the full strength of my legs and back than with my wrist. I don't understand how anyone could think this is a bad thing. The leash is thoughtfully designed. I only take one star away from it because it is tricky to deal with when other dog owners let their dogs approach without checking with me, and there's some cross-leash action. Normally it's not a problem cause my dog is shy and stands by my side when we meet other dogs, but the times it's gotten out of hand we've had to do some interesting maneuvers with the other dog owners lol.

The media could not be loaded. I initially bought this leash in January. I’ve used it since then and I’ve been able to try out the portion where you wrap the leash around your body. I love this feature and it’s exactly what I was looking for in a leash. I officially got to use it more on Easter Sunday. I walked with a friend a dog friendly but busy person area and it was perfect. My dog was able to pee and poop while it was wrapped around my body and I was able to have good conversation with a friend. Without feeling all tied up by holding a dog leash. Not mention this leash is very aesthetically pleasing. It’s expensive but an investment I feel like didn’t go wrong with. I recently, just purchased my dog a matching collar and the poop bag dispenser. The only thing I ask is if Fable Pets create harnesses that match & it would be perfect !!

I want to start this review by acknowledging that this leash costs $75 at the time of review, up from $59 (or something like that) at the time of "purchase". I did not buy it but I will pretend that I did for the sake of this review. That is very expensive for a leash...but maybe they're onto something. Let me explain: The rubberish silicon material is soft and slightly stretchy. This means it is very comfortable to hold. My dog is a nice walker, but when we leave, at first she is a little excited and tries to run out the door. She knows this isn't accepted and quickly calms down as much as a puppy can. The slight pull she does at first is very easy to handle and is significantly more comfortable because of that smooth stretchy material. It doesn't burn you as it moves around and is easy to hold onto. The options as well, where do I start. I mainly use the slip on collar or the basic latch on configuration. Both of these have their benefit. For one, the normal latch on mode gives you extra length. This is good for us as I have a couple flights of stairs to clear and my puppy is a little faster at getting down (and up) them than I am- so I let her go ahead and that extra length makes it easier for both of us as she isn't slowed down and I don't get dragged down the stairs. The slip on mode is very easy to use and doesn't change over the course of a walk. Set it and it just stays at the size you made it. Which is great, you don't want it to hurt your dog or become too loose it slips off. So great design there. It also allows you to put it around your waist which I don't do because it just doesn't work for what I do but I could see this being useful to keep your hands and arms free of any distractions if maybe you want a phone, flashlight, oc spray, or something else in your hand while running with your dog - all of which are very valid and possibly large benefits to using it in that configuration over other leashes. I don't really think there can be enough good things said about it. It just feels nice to use, has a lot of configurations and different options, and feels high quality between the thick material and metal joints/latches. But at the end of the day, you're starting to approach $100 after tax just for one item that has a pretty limited use and that is objectively insane for something you can get for so cheap otherwise. I have to mention that although this is a nice leash, is it an expensive one. If you can justify the cost, I think you will enjoy the product.

I really like the flexibility of this leash, with the multiple ways it can be used. Having three dogs between 55-100lbs it can be tough to take all three for a walk at the same time, especially when the 100lb dog (youngest) needs the most correction. One of my dogs however, is 13 years old and while I don’t need to worry about a leash or recall with him, I still leash him and the Fable leash allows me to just throw his over my shoulder and free up my hands for controlling the other two. Durability wise, I am rather impressed with. After multiple months of nearly daily use, there are no signs of extreme wear and no visible weak spots. What I also particularly like, is the leashes can be full on slugged through mud if need be and all that’s needed is a quick spray down with water and they look as good as new…. No damp, dirty, or crusty leashes for us! I haven’t seen anything similar worth comparing to, so I can’t really say how the price/quality/value can compare with what might be ‘fair’. Leaning towards the higher cost, I am inclined to believe it is fairly reasonable though considering the multiple adjustments and overall quality. I have a friend who has had this same leash since the line first launched several years ago, and they still use it to this day. I also like the colors…. I have three in total; light blue, slate gray, and the cream color. I’d buy them again.
