plugged a PS4 in the monitor and the pic is great. There is no external volume control on the monitor. I got the 5 button version and unlike the instructions included, there are no volume buttons as with the 7 button version. The volume is CONTROLLED BY THE REMOTE. On the remote, you use the left and right navigation buttons. there is also a headphone port on the back, it's not labelled, so stick in your headphones and figure out which on is input and output. ... show more

    • A versatile full-resolution computer HD monitor
TL;DR: Better than what you expect for $120. Great for occasional use on headless computers and in cramped quarters. Would be 3 stars if it was $300. If you want to watch TV, consider a portable TV screen instead. This is a compact, versatile 10 inch-or-so display monitor with true HD (1920x1080) resolution: it actually has that many pixels. Don't laugh: most of the smaller display monitors accept HD input but then downsample the picture into fewer pixels. This is fine if you want to watch pictures. It's unacceptable if you want a computer display, as I do. The downside, obviously, is that those pixels are tiny - you need to pick a big font or have very good eyes (or glasses) to read text. Picture quality: good to excellent. Color is fair, the picture is crisp. It's not a video specialist device offering color fidelity, but the colors are stable and decent. Contrast is pretty good, and the backlight isn't washed out or in the way. Sound quality: tinny but serviceable. For computer use, this doesn't much matter. Versatility: excellent. Beyond the HDMI input, you also get RGB analog, coax, and USB inputs. I generally use HDMI, so I can't vouch for the others. You use the on-screen display to switch between them. Build quality: middling. This is not a monitor you want to throw around a studio. The glass is contained in a thin aluminum frame, the stand is a simple friction lock that won't stay locked if you move it around a lot. It comes with a VESA-standard mounting plate if you have an arm to attach it to, which would eliminate most of these issues. With its stand, it's fine in a semi-permanent place. Convenience: Takes 3-5 seconds to "boot up" when you turn it on. Insta-on it isn't. All the plugs are at the bottom, where you have to wrestle with them to seat them properly. This is perhaps not the monitor for you if you have to switch cables a lot. It has five front buttons that invoke the usual horrid on-screen display features. But it also comes with a tiny remote control that can directly manage most of those features, which improves usability a lot (as long as you don't lose the dang thing). Reliability: Ah well. I've bought three of these by now, and one of them died after the (1 year) warranty expired. Given the price, I didn't cry a lot over it. The other two are chugging along fine. If you use this with real computers, it's worth keeping a spare in the closet. Overall, I haven't found anything better for my use (computer display with lots of text on the screen), even at significantly higher prices. It hits the sweet spot for me.     • Almost Perfect 9.5 / 10 Excellent Metal Mini-Monitor !
This Solid metal frame sturdy built Monitor has crystal clear images, good video, and excellent resolution. 1080P is it's best format, but it clearly displays and auto-switches between all other popular resolutions for PCs 800x600, 1024x768, etc. Sound is clear and bright, a little tinny due to metal casing, but boost the lows and drop the highs to balance the sound. Excellent Little power plug with long cable to set the monitor on your desk or cart. The menu buttons take a bit to learn: Press Menu to get the choices, -> arrow to cycle through options, <- to select the option you want to modify, and the far left button to scroll down through choices. It works with any source of video. I say Almost Perfect because their is no way to disable 'Blue Screen', which will flash bright blue in your face while the unit switches different video formats, PC reboots, DVD loading. Also the EYoYo logo flashes up every time you turn it on, Bright White, Don't look at it - it is VERY BRIGHT ! Other than those two eye blinding features, PC work and DVD watching is PERFECT. The Small Size is PERFECT for small tables or workbenches, cash registers or bar top locations. Very Sturdy. PERFECT Size. PERFECT Images. The stand base is plastic, but fully adjustable and easy to install. You could also install it to a swing arm, or even mount a mini-PC to the back of it, then mount them both on a wall mounted swing arm. Also a good server room mini monitor to place in a rack. The screen arrived, and had blue lines and distortion on the screen after it had been on 30 - 90 seconds. It'd keep getting worse the longer the screen is on. I sent it back and received a replacement. The replacement had the same problem. I needed to use the screen, and decided to open it up. The main chip on the board would get extremely hot, being too hot to touch after just a few seconds. I purchased a copper heatsink and thermal cement. The chip throws off so much heat that the heatsink fins are hot to the touch, but it stays cool enough to run without distortion. I've had it running for a week and it's still working fine. The heatsink will fit under the back cover, but the limited airflow means that the chip will get hotter and start producing interference after a few minutes. Fortunately it's not a problem to keep the back off for my application. ... show more

    • Brilliant TINY, true HD display LED/LCD monitor for our Audio/Visual system
This small (but obviously well built, i.e. heavy-ish) mini HD screen is JUST what we wanted for our Sony Blu-Ray player. When we use that player for movies or streaming A/V content, its menus are up on our big TV screen. BUT when we use that player for audio discs only (TV system not on), having this little screen hooked up (with a One-to-Two HDMI splitter, see my review elsewhere on Amazon), this bright, super-sharp, true HD (1080p) little monitor DISPLAYS all the track and other info on CD's, SACDs and blu-ray AUDIO disks. Now our Blu-ray remote is no longer "shooting blind," but rather lets us see what we're doing (when the TV system is off). You have to see the quality and sharpness of this mini-display to believe it. Some people have had "return for a good one" issues. I always wonder if that's a quality control problem, or users not hooking things up carefully. Ah well. ... show more
