  • Cute but not comfortable for long-wearing and long-term use
Color: Black/Clear Lens Magnification Strength: 0.5 x
So, as a couple of caveats, these are my very first reading glasses. Hello, "short arm syndrome." For a +.5 prescription, the options are very, very limited. I went with these rather than purchasing custom-made because of cost. These are reasonably priced. Not a 5-pack-for-15-bucks level cheap, but won't break the bank. The critiques of the quality of them should be with the consideration also that they're not a high-end product. My satisfaction level with them at first was pretty decent, because I could finally see small print again, better than with a naked eye! Yay! But some issues I experienced from the beginning were smudges and smears that just can't seem to be removed. I've been learning about cleaning glasses from long-time glasses wearers, and I'm new to this, but even with the technique of using dish soap and water at the sink to get the grease, drying with a soft cloth, following up with alcohol, and cleaning with a microfiber cloth, it's just not getting the lenses properly clean. Forget just using the pre-moistened cloths or wiping with your t-shirt (does that actually work for some folks??). So, is this an issue with cheap plastic lenses (which they are)? Or is it a perennial glasses problem that everyone deals with? As a novice, I can't say for sure, but since some glasses claim to be "smudge-resistant," I'm inclined to think it may vary from pair to pair, and that these are especially prone to smudging. They also have gotten a ton of scratches over time. So I'll be throwing away the lot of the ones I bought, about six pairs, as I transition to a stronger prescription. Or maybe passing along through Freecycle with the caveats that they're scratched and smudgy. I'm not sure whether eye fatigue I'm experiencing is simply because of needing a stronger prescription now that I am a couple of years older, or because of crappy lenses. Probably a combination. The major problem, though, is comfort. I have realized that the chronic headaches I've been having are probably also linked to the fit of the glasses. They are hard and unyielding at the bridge of my nose and they put a great deal of pressure on the area above my ears. As I've used them for longer, over time, this problem has become increasingly impairing. So much so that I've been doing my writing with the book farther from my eyes, sans glasses, rather than at the usual preferred distance with glasses. Because my nose hurts and I'm pretty tired of chronic headaches. Now that I'm leveling up with the prescription (pity it's not the fun kind of leveling up like progressing in a video game), I'm getting into territory with more choices, which is one thing I'm happy about. And now I have information about what I'm looking for in a new pair of glasses, so I guess that's useful. I want more flexibility in the hinge, some better cushioning at the nose bridge, and perhaps something tailored for bigger-sized heads. Ultimately I may shell out the money for a custom-made and custom-fitted pair, but for now I'm trying another set from Amazon. Needless to say, I won't be purchasing these Eyekeppers in the +1.0. Trying another brand, and one that allows returns for poor fit. And hoping for one with better quality lenses that may scratch and smudge less readily. Fingers crossed. I wouldn't mind if they were exactly the same style as these. They're not fancy, but I think they're cute, old-school, kinda nerdy vintage-looking glasses. Especially if you're a newbie to glasses, I hope this little story about my own introduction to them is useful. ... show more

  • Simply Awesome
Color: Black/Clear Lens Magnification Strength: 0.75 x
I had Lasik over 20 years ago. I only go to an optometrist to get "computer classes." While accompanying my wife to her appointment, I tried to schedule one for myself. I was in desperate need of a new pair of computer glasses. Frustrated at the fact I cannot see an eye doctor for 3 months, just to get glasses with a .75 magnification, I looked up these pairs. I could not believe they were only $9.99. As a tech professional spending most of my day looking at monitors, standard reading glasses are problematic because the lowest you can get is 1.25 without an eye RX. With .75 takes the strain off of your eyes and makes a lot easier. Not only were these glasses exactly what I needed in regards to the magnification, the glasses as a much needed feature I require with my large head. That is the ability for the glasses to have that needed spring to make them larger and I do not damage them when taking them on and off. (forgive me I do not know the name of that feature) As a bonus, the seller was kind enough to include a lens cloth. Simple addition, and very apricated. If you were with computers, this is a must have item. Simply Awesome. ... show more

  • Value and style
Color: Transparent/Clear Lens Magnification Strength: 2.0 x
These feel really solid and I really like the clear frames for less "spectacles" look. Lenses appear very clear and sharp.

  • Cute style
Color: Tortoise/Green-block Blue Light Lens Magnification Strength: 1.25 x
The style and fit is very cute. I have another pair in a lower magnification I love so purchased these. I don’t like the blue light coating on them. Seems to give a weird glare/distortion to them. I will order more just without the blue light coating. Frames are good quality

  • Not Blue Light Blocking?
Color: Black Red/Clear Lens Magnification Strength: 1.5 x
Well, I ordered these specifically because they were supposed (or I thought) to block blue light. I work from home and my eyes were starting to hurt (not to mention the migraines) from staring at my monitor all day. Well, I specifically went under the Blue Light Blocking Glasses category and found these. They were so cute, a great price, and got here very quickly. They seem to be built great and sturdy... and even came with a handy case which I wasn't expecting... but, there's no yellow tint at all on these glasses. They're regular reading glasses. I went back over the post and it says nothing at all about blocking blue light, so I guess I'm at fault for not reading more carefully. They shouldn't be under the blue light blocking category which is why I took away one star, but overall, I'm happy with them and won't be returning them. ... show more
