I needed a new cover for my dog's crate and this one fit the dimensions perfectly. Because his crate has 2 doors, I wanted to be able to have that option. This created a nice little hideaway for my puppy when he wants downtime, and the mesh along the bottom keeps it from being stuffy. But, how does it compare to the last one I purchased? My previous dog was smaller and she had a smaller crate and cover. It was also 2 doors, and the cover provided for those two openings. What I liked better about the previous one was the construction. It had ties at the top and bottom of each corner, plus at the openings. Each of the 2 openings rolled up and had ties to keep them up, like tent flaps, while the rest of cover remained attached to the crate. The fabric was also a canvas fabric and more substantial overall. This cover quickly slides on without need to tie each corner, but that also makes it less secure, and I wouldn't use it outside as I think the wind would easily blow it off. The four panels are attached to each other with one velcro tab near the bottom. When I lift up a side to access a door, I am opening the entire panel. There are no strings to tie the flap open, but we have a platform on top of the crate to hold the flap open. Again, I really like the mesh on the bottom, cuz this boy wants his air flow!
