It is really difficult to capture the Cherry stain, looks better in real life than in the pictures. The nymph is not "explicitly" detailed, as those might be uncomfortable in the palm of your hand. Fit and finish is really nice, the wood grain is exposed, not covered with a thick layer of lacquer. You can feel the grain. The metal ring is a solid casting. The only complaint that I have, and it is minor, her nose is actually very pointy and sharp. Be careful, that feature might damage easily, or you could possibly scratch yourself with it. I will have to get the Mermaid, Twins, and Goddess versions as well at some point. After a recent leg injury, I will require a cane to walk for the next few weeks. This happened right before attending a few weddings, so I wanted to find a cane that would still look nice while in a suit. This can handmade walking cane is perfect! It looks great and is comfortable enough to use all day. I will be using this during future events even when my leg is fully healed! haha ... show more

    • A high quality, amazing looking piece of functional craftsmanship
Years ago I used one of the old fashioned curved top drugstore canes after knee surgery. Hated it; hard to hold the curve, looked like an old man cane. Last year after injuring my ankle, I purchased order the Direwolf dark walnut cane. It rocks! Now I damaged my knee and decided I "needed" a 2and cane, the carved nymph. The craftsmanship is amazing at any price. The wood is high quality and the finish is perfect. And the carved nymph pommel is outstanding [well, wives might take exceptiontotheirhusbands gripping a recumbent nude nymph]. I have gotten tons of compliments on it, and guess what? My only issue is that the nymph's breasts press directly into my palm, uncomfortably so if I put too much weight on it. But all-in-all, this is a high quality cane. Need a cane? Get yourself one of these - you won't regret it for a minute. I liked my first enough to buy a second and I'm a bit of a tightwad!! ... show more

This is a great looking cane. It can and will start conversations. However it is not as comfortable as some other canes I have. I still love it though and use it quite often. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars for sturdiness is I'm a very big man, over 300 lbs., and almost nothing feels sturdy under me. It hasn't cracked or failed yet so maybe it's stronger then I give it credit for. Anyway I love it. ... show more

This is a beautifully made, stylish cane and I have gotten many compliments about its beauty and craftsmanship. The handle is especially comfortable. The only problem I've encountered with this cane is the problem with chipping that's happened when the cane was dropped. I keep a small tin of touch-up paint to spruce it up and help to repair the dings in the finish. Still, I am absolutely thrilled with my lovely cane and I intend to return to this seller to buy another backup cane very soon! ... show more
