  • Fit Wider than Previous Shamans (Shakra for narrow feet with limited sizing in May 2017)
I owned two pairs of the previous Shaman and loved the fit, comfort and performance for my style of climbing (comfort is number one for me). I wear a street shoe size 44 (10.5). In the Previous Shaman I wore an 11 which fit perfect. I began with that same size for the new Shaman and couldn't fit my foot into the shoe without it feeling like I was engaging in some kind of footbinding in ancient China. I returned the 11 and ordered an 11.5 expecting that to be a perfect fit (The new shoe is recommended to downsize a half size from the previous Shaman). I tried it on and it was comfortable, but just a bit too short for comfort. The toe box was pushing too hard against my toe knuckles and I could feel the seam too easily making it just too uncomfortable fro more than 5 minutes. I returned those and got a 12. The length of the 12 fit spot on, but alas, the right shoes toe liner was defective and I had to return those as well (definitely check with your hand when you buy). The wrinkles in the liner were so bad, it felt like a some twigs pressing against me toes. The left shoe was just fine. BTW, I do not give negative stars for not getting the right fit on first order, this is normal and not the manufacturer's fault. The downside to the 12s were that the length was spot on finally, but at the cost of the width/fit being a bit too big. So I have a looser, baggier feeling shoe in the toe and heel and I have to crank the straps and tongue almost all the way. This is because the Shamans are designed for wider feet... So obviously my feet are a bit narrower than designed for with this shoe. I was so excited for these since the last two pairs somehow worked perfect for me. I decided to go with the 12s, but am not as excited that they just don't accommodate my foot like before. So close to being perfect, but just have me stuck between 11.5 and 12. Due to the knuckle box design, it pushes directly against your toe knuckles in an unforgiving manner if you don't have the right foot. if you have wide feet, these are PERFECT. I wish they would make a wide and standard version of these in the future. I love them. Pros: - Amazing stability and comfort if you have wide feet - Better, thinner straps - Midsole flex is nice - Tighter fitting heel cup - Toes have better edge control over previous model - Toe hooking and heel hooking control is improved over previous model - Color and finish - Soft liner Cons: - Seam directly on big toe can be uncomfortable or unbearable if your feet are not wide - Doesn't accommodate thinner feet like previous Shamans UPDATE: It looks like the Shakra model is designed with a lower volume upper AND has the love bump/knuckle box of the Shamans and is designed as unisex narrow feet & women. Largest size will be a women's 12.5 and will be released May 2017 ... show more

  • Awesome shoes. They run very small.
Best shoes I have ever climbed with. Highly recommend. Super comfy even with tight fit. Note, the shoes are very small. Don’t by smaller than you normally wear on the street, you might even need to upsize. See picture for what I mean Sharman same size as street shoe.

  • Sizes are way too small
I like the way the shoes feel when they fit. But it took many tries to get the right size because EVOLV makes their sizes too small. I wear 10.5 US Men's and I wear 12.5 Evolv Men's. So 2 whole sizes apart.

  • Increases by about a half some when broken in
When I first got them I got my street shoe size (I don't personally like to go a size down) and they were pretty tight so I'd say they run smallish. They wore in and eventually I could stand to wear them for extended periods, that took about 5 short bouldering sessions. Heel hooks like a champ and doesn't slide off your foot ... show more

  • Favorite climbing shoe
These are even better than the old shaman's. I have been using them for years as my primary bouldering shoe. I also have a pair of the Evolv Nexxo that I use for the hardest problems. These are super comfortable. I went down a half size from the previous shaman's. Great fit, aggressive yet comfortable. love em. ... show more

  • Super tight - stitches inside can hurt toes
I'm a size 9, and I got 12.5 for these and they are still too tight - I'm probably a 13. Unfortunately they don't stretch either. There are stitches inside the shoes that press against your toes and can hurt, so I have to wear band aids.

  • Love them
They hook great toe and heel, sticky, I feel like a mountain goat going up the wall. They do run small, order 2 full sizes up from your shoe size

  • These aren't as cool but are way more comfortable
Had rasta shamans until they got pinched. These aren't as cool but are way more comfortable .
