  • Great saw at a great price. Cuts like butter!
Style: EVOSAW380 Pattern Name: Saw
The media could not be loaded. So my first impression out of the box was it’s “crap!” The blade is not square to the table by a pretty big margin. So I found someone on YouTube with the same issue and he explains how to fix it. So I did what he recommended and shimmed the motor and got it perfectly square. See photos for shim I used and location on the saw. I took a few cuts and I’m extremely impressed by the saw. It really cuts steel like butter with no sparks whatsoever. Work slowly and don’t force the blade through the steel let it cut its way through. I cut pieces upto 1.5” x 4” with no problems. Although only about 25% of the chips make it into the box underneath the saw the rest are scattered around the shop like fairy dust. They glitter and shine as you walk by and catch a glimpse, these will surely end with rust spots pretty much everywhere. Wear all the protective gear you would expect when cutting metal and all will be fine. So 4 stars are for the required squaring of the blade which should be in the included manual otherwise I really like this saw. So I changed my rating to 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been using this saw for a bunch of projects and it is really a great saw. Once you get it dialed in it you can make repeated square cuts with no further adjustment. I have cut a multitude of different types of material with the same results and I would say it is nothing less than perfect. ... show more

  • Great saw. Beware of minimum cut off material length, do not cut off less than 1" of material.
Style: EVOSAW380 Pattern Name: Saw
It's an amazing saw. It cuts great. The base is lacking a method of mounting it to a saw table / base. It would be beneficial if there were an indication on the saw platform that shows the minimum cut allowed for a 90 degree up to a 45 degree cut. Although the instructions mention a minimum cut of 5/16" there is no reference to what angle of cut that applies to. I learned the hard way when trying to make a miter cut through 3/4" inch square stock. ( see photos, the arrows indicate where the mitered cut off piece got lodged inside between the blade and guard. The guard was broken by the cut off piece. ) I recommend not cutting off less than 1" of material to play it safe. Despite the learning curve of cutting restrictions such as the minimum cut off piece, the saw is performing very well. About 200 cuts in and only minor chips in a few teeth. Update: 12/05/2018 This is one of our favorite tools. The auto-retracting saftey guard has broken probably due to the heavy use it gets. Covered under warranty. Customer service at evolution is stellar!! ... show more

Style: EVOSAW380 Pattern Name: Saw
I watched several You Tube reviews of this type of saw before I purchased one, and the Evolution seemed to come out on top. The saw that I received is better than my cheap Chinese band saw but I was expecting better. When I received my new Evolution saw, I set the vise rear jaw to be square to the blade. Then I checked the vertical squareness of the blade to the deck of the saw and I noticed that the blade is not square with the deck. I sent an e-mail to Evolution asking about this issue and they have ignored me. I am disappointed that the saw is not square and that Evolution has not responded to me. From my research into the company, I was under the impression that Evolution is supposed to have excellent customer service, apparently not in my case. ... show more

  • EXCELLENT tool. A real game changer in my shop.
Style: EVOSAW380 Pattern Name: Saw
This is an incredible tool. I wish I would've discovered it earlier. After 25+ years of fabricating with metal, this is definitely in the top five or ten tools that I consider game changers for me personally. I first did a lot of research and watched every available YouTube video and review available before purchasing. During that time I also watch several people make a lot of mistakes and learn from them. Do yourself a favor and learn how to do three things: 1) Clamp your work piece properly! And support BOTH ends of a long piece of material. This will help prevent tooth loss (and injury) 2) Learn the correct ORIENTATION in which to clamp material. There is a proper and improper way to clamp square and angled stock material. 3) Learn the proper amount of down-pressure to use. HINT: very very little... let the blade do the work. (I'll try to post some photos if I can figure this iOS app out.) ... show more

  • Production.... 4 ownership year review....
Style: EVOSAW380 Pattern Name: Saw
I own a professional manufacturing company and opt'ed out of purchasing a cold cut saw, instead purchased this saw. Coming from a abrasive chop saw, this saw is the Bee's knee's.... Coming from a cold cut saw this was a meh purchase. I have experience from a previous employer on a cold cut saw, but coolant and trace oils was a big issue in the fab shop. But like the cold cut saw, this saw, in the first 70 cuts of 1x1x.125 angle is perfect. If you don't shove material in the blade, and allow it to cut. With little deburing, expected, it still performs.... This is a dependable angle producing machine.... Know your angle from the blade, it performs as expected. As the blade wears, it starts to cut off, and there is a sweet spot to know, it has to be learnet.... Overall, this is a good machine, but you have to be knowledgeable on how it will work for you.... I did build my own stand for it, and measure side table, and I like it... ... show more

  • High Quality. Easy to use. Safety features.
Style: EVOSAW380 Pattern Name: Saw
Excellent purchase. I am thrilled with this saw. I use it with the EVO steel blade that came with it. I let the saw get up to full rpm before I begin sawing and then use only the slightest bit of downward force. I take my time and let the saw cut at its own pace - no hurry. It cuts anything and produces nice clean cut faces that are ready to weld. There are far fewer sparks with this saw compared to a cheaper cutting disc. And I feel a lot safer using this kind of saw compared to a cutting disc. I was at my steel supplier recently and noticed that they were using this same model of saw to cut my 24-ft lengths of steel in to 12-ft lengths. That gave me confirmation that I had bought a good saw. They also sell the EVO blades for it; but seeing them using it in the back out of the public eye was a confidence builder. ... show more
