I grabbed this to fill holes and a few dents in an older steel door, and it's worked perfectly. The filler mixes easily per the directions and works smoothly as you apply it with the simple included spreader. Shrinkage wasn't evident at all after setting up, which is important to note. If you're familiar with products such as this, you'll likely find that the formula dries quick, adheres well, and is easy to work with beforehand. Depending on the temperatures, though, it does set up quick, so be ready and work in small batches. The final amount of sanding and smoothing is largely dependent on how much overfill, but that takes practice to get it as close to perfect on the first shot. This Evercoat began to set up in about 7 minutes in the sun, and was sandable when I returned in 20 minutes. This speed is fine by me for small areas. The 13oz size is small, but in some ways that's a good thing, as it forces you to have fresh product on hand more often. At $20 for this size, it may be a bit pricey compared to some other competitors, but not by a huge margin. I'd say it's still a good value at this price. This is a very Bondo like all purpose body filler due anything from wood to metal. This comes with the filler and hardener. This has natural fillers like talc, limestone, etc, so it is essentially a mineral polymer. The hardener allows this to set quickly. You can sand this fairly easily when cured. This also doesn't shrink much at all, and it shouldn't expand much with temperature. This functions well, is a decent size for small repairs, and is good quality. This body filler kit from Evercoat worked well on my project. Using body filler working quickly, I was able to shape and smooth the areas that needed repair. After completing the patch work, the compound dried quickly and I was able to sand within less than an hour. I didn’t use this as a buildable compound - as described in the listing details - I will consider that as an option next time. Sanding was easy with different grits. I like this bondo filler its pretty typical to the main stuff and bonds great to metal. Definitely easier to sand and required less effort to get the finished look.
