Top Amazon Reviews

  • Evenflo Symphony Elite beats out more popular and expensive Graco 4ever 4-in-1
I originally bought this car seat through Amazon Prime Day for $90 last year. I now like it so much that I just purchased another one for my mom's vehicle. After installing (which is incredibly easy to do) the car seat in my Jeep Grand Cherokee, I was initially very concerned. The 1st position recline on the seat isn't great. As seen in the first picture, the lowest recline position is still very upright. My daughter's head would constantly fall forward when she fell asleep. The seat is also very large and makes it slightly more difficult for my husband to drive my SUV as he can't re-position the drivers seat all the way back like he prefers (he is 6"1"). For these reasons I decided to do some research into another car seat that would fit our needs. I wanted something more compact and that had at least a 6 position recline option. After a lot of research I decided on the ever popular and much more expensive Graco 4ever 4-in-1 ($240). With thousands of positive reviews and nearly five stars, I thought for sure this would be a winner. I was wrong. Although the Graco offers many positive features such as, 6 position recline (my daughter's head never fell forward when asleep in the 1st position recline), compact (my husband could easily drive my SUV), 10 position headrest and harness length (would easily grow with our child), easy to clean material, lightweight (would be easy to travel with), and great weight range (4-120 lbs.). The major issues I have with the Graco is twofold, the cup holders would pop out every single time I took my daughter out of the seat or put her in. Every.time. It is seriously annoying. But, the major issue was that the headrest would shake uncontrollably when my daughter wasn't in the seat. After looking at every option to fix the problem the only thing that solved it was to either put weight on the seat (setting something on it when she wasn't in the vehicle) or adjusting the headrest all the way down in its first position, which meant that every time I put her in the car I would have to readjust the headrest, harness and buckles. What should be a two minute process of getting my daughter safely secured turned into a several minute process. I knew there was no way that I could deal with this every day, so I wanted to see if I could somehow make the Evenflo work. I really liked everything about the seat except for the recline. After some adjusting using a pool noodle and a towel placed at the very front of the seat closest to the seat back, it finally worked. The recline is perfect and my daughter's head no longer falls forward when she's snoozing (as seen in the second picture). If you're willing to adjust a little, the Evenflo Symphony Elite really is a wonderful option. Plus it's much more affordable! Pros: -Heavy duty (this is a pro for me, but may be a con for others). This seat is large and in charge. You need to be aware that this car seat is big and does take up a lot of room, so it may not work in a compact vehicle. But, I really do love the size. She is incredibly comfortable in the seat. -Material. The material of the seat is soft and plush. I live in the midwest (where it gets very hot during the summer) and my vehicle sits in full sun all day. The material never gets hot to the touch and I would be comfortable placing my daughter in the seat without first cooling the car down. -Cup holders. Cup holders are permanent with a stretchy fabric for any size cup or snack. Makes it very versatile. -Safety. The seat hits all the major safety marks (but, really, they all do nowadays) -Headrest and harness. Super easy to adjust even when she is sitting in the seat. -Weight range is awesome. 5-110 lbs. Will easily grow with my little one. -Installation. Incredibly easy. It took my husband all of one minute (once we got the pool noodle and towel in place) to install the car seat using using the latch connectors. -Cost. It's $170 in comparison to other much more expensive seats currently on the market and definitely fits the bill with all the wonderful features. Cons: -Recline. I've addressed this already and was the major reason for looking for another seat. If you're willing to adjust a little, the issue can be solved. -Size. The seat is large. Will not fit in all vehicles comfortably. I decided that my husband would just have to deal with the re-positioning of the driver's seat. All the other positives really outweigh this one negative. Overall, after some adjustments, I am so happy with this seat. It really does fit all of our needs and my little lady, who hated her infant seat (which is why we transitioned her at six months into a convertible seat) finally likes riding in the car. This seat really does offer so much and considering there are much more expensive seats on the market, you really do get a bang for your buck. I am positive that this seat will grow nicely with her. I highly recommend the Evenflo Symphony Elite! ... show more

  • Tried and true. Very satisfied
Have bought 8 of these in the past 6 years. Two for me and one for each grandchild. The 6 year olds have plenty of room. The infant is set up nicely. I love it. Safety rating very high. Love the side crash test. Feel very secure with the safety of my little passengers. 110lb weight limit a plus.

  • Going on 3 years and great!
Bought this 3 years ago when we had to switch from the infant version to a toddler version. I love this car seat. It easy to take apart and clean. The cupholders are absolutely useless, so warb your child to hold on to their snacks and drinks, cause one turn and it topples out onto the floor. The buckles adjust fine and the middle buckle is comfortable for my daughter. My daughter is now 5 and can buckle herself in. She's is petite and weighs about 35lbs so we'll keep using it for a while. I can move this to any car if need be because its just that easy to install. ... show more

  • Safest seat you can get for the price!
*update after 3 years of use* I upgraded from my original 4 stars to 5 - this seat is amazing and has very little wear after 3 years of daily use! I have machine washed the seat cover so many takes and it’s held up perfectly! My 38lb 3.5 year is still using the harness but I’m confident that this seat will last long enough for him to eventually transition to using it as a high back booster! Installing it forward facing is MUCH easier than installing rear facing. I am expecting baby #2 and will definitely be buying another one of these! *Original Review* We really like this seat! I researched for several days before buying. I had always heard Britax was the "safest" seat and to be honest, it is. BUT we simply could not spend $250+ for a car seat. So I was going to settle for the Britax Roundabout, their cheapest seat, simply to have the Britax name. I was hesitant though, because it was SO plain! No extra cushioning, no easy adjust harness, nothing. I finally decided to look into non- Britax seats and found this one! It has the SAME safety rating from Consumer Reports as the Roundabout, but has all the bells and whistles - for the same price! The harness is so incredibly easy to adjust! The head support is too! It feels so cushy and soft, I'm not worried about my baby spending hours at a time in it. And OMG it's so so easy to install...initially anyway. The sure latch connection was the simplest latch system I've installed! I've installed a super basic Cosco convertible seat and my baby's seat before this was a Britax B Safe... and this one was by far the easiest! The first time I installed it, I placed a rolled up towel underneath, as was suggested from the owners manual. But the first time my child fell asleep in the seat, his head leaned too far forward. So then I went and bought a small pool noodle to place underneath it - nope, still not enough recline and my baby's head was still falling forward. Finally, I bought a large pool noodle, as I saw another reviewer suggested, and used that. I thought for sure I had it right this time! But unfortunately, the next time my child fell asleep in the seat, sure enough, his head was falling dangerously too far forward. I was so upset! I really love the seat and didn't want to have to return it. I was talking about my frustrations to some of my other mommy friends, and they all said "Thats just part of having a larger seat" But I thought, if that was true, there wouldn't be so many warnings on the instruction manual about children's heads falling over and blocking their air passages. So I knew there had to be a way to install it correctly. Finally, I uninstalled and reinstalled it again with the same large pool noodle, but this time I had the noodle closer to the middle of the seat base rather than the front. Low and behold! This time it worked perfectly! (I added pics with first my original towel rolled up underneath, and then when I put the large pool noodle further to the middle - you can see the difference in the recline.) The next time my child fell asleep in the seat, his head stayed at a perfect angle! So now, my 4 month, 18lb little boy fits great with all the included inserts, but it's awesome that I can remove a few as he grows. My only other complaints, and this is why I downgraded to 4 stars rather than 5, is that the harness does NOT come with any padding/covers. So I paid about $15 total for separate shoulder straps and a crotch buckle strap that I will put on. Also, I love the idea of the buckle pockets to pull the straps out of the way while loading and unloading my baby, but they just do not work very well. They are constantly falling out. I'm thinking about having my husband install some simple Velcro strips on the straps and the seat cover, similar to the Britax brands, and see if that helps. Over all I am very, very pleased with this seat! It's safe and comfortable for my baby, the fabric feels fatastic, and I am looking forward to not having to buy any other child seat for my baby boy! ... show more
