Frequently asked questions

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a hybrid stroller/wagon that offers the ability to push or pull the stroller, 2 kids riding options, all-terrain wheels, an adjustable handle, a large storage basket, and an easy, compact fold. It also features a 3-point harness for safety, and a protective canopy against elements.

While the Pivot Xplore is designed for two children, it's recommended they be at least 6 months of age. This is because the stroller wagon does not recline flat to accommodate young babies who cannot sit upright unassisted. Always use the safety harnesses when your child is in the stroller.

Yes, the Pivot Xplore is an all-terrain stroller wagon. It's equipped with durable, all-terrain tires that can comfortably handle grass, gravel, and uneven sidewalks, making it optimal for both city walks and park adventures.

The Pivot Xplore has a maximum weight limit of 120 pounds or around 55 kilograms. Each seat can safely accommodate a child up to 55 pounds, meaning you can safely use it for two kids as long as the combined weight does not exceed the limit.

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

This Stroller Wagon is highly recommended by users, thanks to its convenient and versatile design, which is reportedly loved by both toddlers and pets. Customers appreciated the wagon for its comfort, spaciousness, snack tray, and convertible push-pull handle. However, some found it a bit heavy and pinpointed a few design flaws, such as difficulties in cleaning the foot well, problems with the canopy system, and lack of a cargo cover.

Pros

  • 🙂 Easy for children to climb into with the tilt feature and foot space cutout.
  • 😊 Converts easily between push and pull modes, making it versatile for different terrains.
  • 👍 Equipped with individual snack trays, UV canopies, and waist restraint belts for both seats.
  • 💕 Suitable for both toddlers and pets.
  • 👌 Provides a smooth ride on various terrains, including parks, beaches, and neighborhoods.

Cons

  • 😕 The wagon is on the heavier side, making it slightly cumbersome to move around.
  • 🙁 The snack trays are hard to clean, particularly of food crumbs.
  • 😒 The canopy system has a few flaws, such as incomplete coverage and lack of locking system.
  • 😔 There is no way to close off the foot cutout for children to lie flat in the wagon.

Should I Buy It?

Despite a few design issues, the wagon offers a plethora of helpful features that seem to delight both parents and children. Most users express a high level of satisfaction with the product, which implies that it will be a great choice for active families with young kids or owners with aging pets. Moreover, it’s indicated that this wagon offers great value for money compared to others in the market. Therefore, it seems to be a wise investment for potential buyers.

  • Impressive little wagon Impressive little wagon
Style: Pivot Xplore Dreamz Color: Voyager Green
I will start out by saying I have owned the mothership of all wagons, Wonderfold W4. Which I do love BUT it takes up too much trunk space and is too heavy for me to take places. I believe the Wonderfold W4 is 58 lbs and the Evenflo is 37 lbs. I wanted something smaller and lighter for every day use that I can keep in my car, a Suburban, and still have space for groceries. In all honesty I didn’t want to spend money on another expensive wagon only to find it was too heavy and took up my whole trunk again. The wagon was very easy to assemble, just snap on the wheels, click on the canopies, and attach the handle with screws and included Allen wrenches and we were ready to go on a walk in about 10 minutes. I used the wagon with my 20 month old and newly 6 year old. I tried the heavier child in both positions and didn’t notice the wagon handle any differently. The sunshades and good coverage and my 6 year old could fit under. We ended up not using the tray table because my 6 year old’s knees were touching it and it bothered him. The wagon will mostly be used for my 20 month old and the other seat is for kid gear when we are out and about but wanted to test it with a heavier child. One thing I didn’t see in the listing or any reviews that actually was important to me was that the basket could go on either the front or back. So that is the first thing I tested. And in fact the basket works on both the front and back of this wagon. We probably won’t use the nap mat but i tested that out too and is a nice feature if you have kids who will nap while you are out. Mine definitely won’t. I was debating between this wagon and the Veer City. I do not regret it at all! I couldn’t justify spending so much on a wagon and still have to buy the accessories I wanted some of which are on back order for a long time. This wagon has everything you need. I put on a parent console for my drinks. And the. Asker on the back for my kids lunch boxes and cups. We are going to put the wagon through the wringer this week by trying it out at the beach and at the pumpkin patch. I have now taken the wagon to the beaches of Destin, Florida where we have deep powder sand. And to the pumpkin patch at a farm with uneven hilly ground. And the wagon handled both like a champ. I have taken my Wonderfold to this same pumpkin patch and it could not handle the uneven ground but the Evenflo could no problem! And the option to pull the wagon through the sand made getting to the waterline so much easier. I won’t even attempt the beach with the Wonderfold. Now ballon tires would make pulling this wagon effortless. So you will still need to be in decent cardiovascular shape to pull a wagon over the deep sand but it was doable and made getting down to the waterline much easier than trying to carry the baby and the stuff. And especially then once we got to the boardwalk it was smooth sailing again. Sand didn’t even stick to the wagon. While I was sitting next to the wagon on the beach I also realized there is elastic on the side so you can put things in there like water bottles or rolled up towels. What I would possibly improve would be making the footwell have the ability to unzip so you could shake it out. But it was easy enough to vacuum though and I love how big it was. And I wish that Evenflo would make balloon tires for the beach. They would blow the competition out of the water if they did. But over all this was a great buy and I would definitely buy it again. ... show more

  • Love this wagon! Love this wagon!
Style: Pivot Xplore Color: Adventurer Gray
UPDATE: After having this wagon for nearly a year, I figured I would update my review. The wagon has held up extremely well, and we take this thing everywhere, including on deep sandy beaches, and we leave it outside for weeks on end. It has held up so well and functions like new. It still rolls smoothly and the fabric is very durable. Honestly, if we spent the time to detail this thing, it could probably pass as brand new. I love that my kids can sit up and look around as we roll them around the zoo or wherever we happen to be adventuring. The sides of the shades are netted so the kids can still look around when the shades are up (some people complain that this defeats the purpose a bit of the shade, but it's a welcome tradeoff for us). It's so much more fun for them than being strapped back into a stroller. It's still a "must have" in my book for those with 2 kids close in age. That said, there are a few things that could be improved. -The handle when using as a stroller could be a bit longer. I'm 5' 4" and it's barely long enough for me, and my shins tend to swipe against the storage basket while walking. My husband, who is 5'11" agrees that the handle should be longer. This is the biggest issue I have with it and it bugs me a little every time we take it out. -The detachable shades slide out very easily, and my 19 month old thinks it's hilarious to pull them out. I wish they had some sort of child lock or mechanism that made them more difficult to remove. -The back wheels stick out, which makes the wagon fairly wide, and while I'm not an engineer, it doesn't seem like it's necessary for them to be so wide. It's not really an issue, but moving them in an inch or so would make a noticeable difference. -It gets very grimy from a mixture of the kids spilling things, their feet smashing crackers and other food that drops into the foot rest area, and sand. It's easy enough to clean by spraying it down with a high-pressure hose, and a bit of scrubbing, but I wish we could easily remove the foot area and ideally the whole fabric piece and toss it in the washer. -The kids tend to kick each other (or their feet barely brush against each others feet, which in toddler world can be a major offense), and if it's an "off" day for them, this will cause them to start fighting and whining. There's probably not much Evenflo can do about that, but just a fair warning that the foot area isn't the roomiest (and doesn't need to be in terms of actual physical space). Original review: This is perfect for us. We have a 2.5 year old and a 10 month old. The double stroller was not ideal because one kid always had to sit on bottom or in back. Now they can sit together and they just love riding in this thing. It folds and unfolds easily, seems to be well made, and is comfortable to push and pull. The only downsides we’ve found are that it has a tough turning radius simply because it’s a wagon and it’s not something that you’d want to take anywhere you’ll need to pop it up and down on curbs. You can’t just put your foot down on the bar and push on the handles to pop it up on a curb, it’s just not built for that. It’s great for everyday use, to the playgrounds the beach, etc. the little storage basket holds our beach toy bucket, towels, and blanket, and the pockets hold the kids’ water and bottles. It’s perfect for our little weekend adventures. Some may be surprised by how wide it is or how big it is when folded, but we went from the Nuna Demi Grow double stroller, which was just as wide, just as heavy, and even larger when folded. Plus, with the Nuna, we had to remove the seats separately and then fold the frame. This wagon folds all in one piece. So, if you have a big double stroller to begin with, this will be a welcome change or, at least, not worse than what you’re already used to. ... show more

  • Posh level perks for 1/4 the cost!
Style: Pivot Xplore Dreamz Color: Jetsetter Black
I am a stroller snob. I own a Bumbleride singleton stroller, and LOVE IT. But when we had two babies back to back I couldn't justify investing in ANOTHER expensive stroller so quickly... but we needed to upgrade to a double. I sort of settled on this Evenflo (again: SNOB!) "in the meantime" b/c it was being sold at a price I couldn't refuse, and I figured we'd at least try it. I LOVE IT! Why I love it: I drive a Chrysler minivan and it fits in the narrow trunk. A lot of other stroller wagons would not-b/c they don't fold in half. This one folds very much like a normal stroller, albeit a bit chunkier. I am short and not that strong, and I can heave it in and out of the trunk no problem (I was worried about this b/c it weighs quite a bit). It also rolls easily when unopened, so there's no need to pick it up and carry it--you can roll it if you need to open it elsewhere. Sometimes this happens to me when parked in a tight spot. My almost three year old and almost two year old fit comfortably and there is a nice little tray that goes between the occupants to keep them from annoying one another. I like that each side has a full canopy for rain/wind. Unlike other wagons there is a foot space that drops lower than the stroller frame, which means their feet aren't sticking straight out into one another. It's surprisingly easy to maneuver and the handle very easily adjusts in height and converts from push stroller to pull wagon. It's nice that the cup holder folds right into the stroller itself when packed up - no need to keep track of it and pull it off before folding up. Overall this thing is really... perfect! I stand impressed! We took it out on a very windy day - and the babies stayed warm tucked inside the full canopies. This thing even handles well on snowy walks. Nice job, Evenflo! Posh level perks, at 1/4 of the cost! We do nature hikes on unpaved trails and also spend a LOT of time on the sidelines of outdoor sports events. This fits our needs perfectly. Very happy mama! ... show more

  • A lot going on
Style: Pivot Xplore Dreamz Color: Voyager Green
I think the nap mat and storage is the true highlight here. This wagon is slim enough to use indoors in place of a regular stroller. That is what’s giving it the leg up on our current Graco modes wagon which is our favorite for outdoors. The front wheels on this are ridiculously designed. They need the supports on both sides to call this all terrain. I’m going to have to be eternally careful even loading this into the trunk and storing. The Graco doesn’t have any sturdiness issues. Dreamz canopies DO NOT STAY UP OR TOUCH! If I’m looking for full sun coverage the Graco is the only option. This is such a flaw. When the canopy extensions are zipped in the spare fabric is still right there inside. It’s unsightly but not a huge deal. The big deal is that there is no locking mechanism when they’re full upright?? Why is that a thing? Nobody would want a floppy umbrella either. One windy blow or bump and these fall right back to 75% upright. Super unfortunate. I’ll probably need to rig a double ended pacifier clip to use to keep both shades up and together if I ever need to keep my kids out of the sun when using this wagon. The only true true flaw with this wagon is the collapsing seat in the front. It totally ruins the integrity of the seat because it is always trying to collapse down on itself. If you plan to use this feature of this wagon, expect the front seat to last barely a year. The handle on this is more sturdy than the Graco. It also quickly retracts over the seating in the wagon which is excellent for elevators and public transport. The seats are more slim but they are still very roomy as well as the foot well. My daughter is super tall and we have no issues. Overall, the material quality on this is there for the price point. This is a long way from the perfect stroller wagon but it’s a perfect combination with the graco in a lot of ways. We needed something that had more storage, a lay flat option and wasn’t a complete bus for city use and indoors. This checks all those boxes and relatively well. The boxes it doesn’t check are proper canopies and structural integrity. This puppy is FRAGILE. ... show more

  • Love it so far! Just big! Love it so far! Just big!
Style: Pivot Xplore Dreamz Color: Jetsetter Black
So this stroller seems very sturdy and well made. I love the look and feel. There is more than enough space for my 2 and 4 year olds and our little 9lb dog could also probably fit in there to be honest. I read this stroller was an easy set up so I timed how long it took me to go through the directions and put it together. It took 29 minutes which was not bad considering there was some minor areas that needed to be screwed etc. It came with everything you would need for that. Once I got it together I was in love. The only drawback is when you break it down it’s very easy to open it back up again where it’s not flat. It doesn’t lock into its folded position so if you move it or touch the handle, it’s going to open back up a little bit and lock into place so you’ll have to push the sides to break it down again so this already big product won’t be even bigger. This brings me to my other drawback. This stroller is huge. I have inserted a picture of it in my trunk. I have a 2023 Kia Seltos and it takes up the entirety of the trunk and pushes against the door a little. The basket, tray, and bassinet attachments I placed under the trunk floor within the spare tire storage space and it fit there fine. I am debating on whether or not I should leave it in the trunk or bring it in the house when I know I’m not going to be using it just because of how big it is. I wouldn’t consider it heavy and I just drug to the car by the handle, but for me personally because I live in apartment, I can see it getting annoying bringing it up and down just because I need trunk space. I’ll have to figure that out. Still not taking stars away for that. I read that it was big and still got it because it was my stroller of choice after doing a lot of research. I guess I just need a bigger car now lol! Anyway, I recommend! ... show more

  • Absolutely fantastic stroller replacement
Style: Pivot Xplore Color: Ranger Green
This thing blew me away- I had my eye on other, more expensive wagons for a while before I came across this. I liked the style and the price was much more affordable, so I went for it. I'm so glad I did. This thing is just excellently designed. After a few minutes of initial assembly, it's easy to set up or collapse again. Folded up, it takes up much less space than our old tandem-stroller used to. If anything, it's comparable to a single stroller when stored in our car. It doesn't require a lot of weird adjustments or tweaking, it just folds out into a comfortable two-seater wagon. The included sun shades fold up and down easily and never need to be removed or fussed with. The seat belts are simple and the little snack tray across the middle is brilliant for keeping a little boundary between fussy kiddos. The detachable storage basket is also great, as it gives you a little bit of shopping space if needed or can be flipped into the wagon itself if you're only hauling one kid. Another little perk is the unique look- the color and shape of this wagon is distinct enough that you can spot yours in a crowd without trouble. That can be a lifesaver when you need it. The place where it really shines is how insanely smooth the ride is. The wheels absolutely glide on any surface and is easy to push or pull (although be sure to put your biggest kid in the back so they don't throw off your steering!) I initially worried that the nearly frictionless wheels would make it prone to rolling off unattended, but the designers clearly thought of that and implemented the best stroller brakes I've used. They're light and easy to click on or off without having to smash your toes (I've permanently dented some shoes trying to lock/unlock the brakes on other strollers), and when locked the stroller doesn't budge at all. This was a great purchase. It freed up a huge amount of space in our car compared to the double-stroller we had used before, it's easier than ever to get the kids in or out of it, and they actively love it- our oldest keeps asking for wagon rides everywhere since we got it. All this for almost $200 LESS than my original choice. I can't praise it enough. ... show more

  • Incredible Value for Price!
Style: Pivot Xplore Color: Wayfarer Black
If you search for other wagons similar to this, there are many with a much higher price tag. Given that this is about 50% leas than some of the most popular wagons, I did not expect to be as impressed as I am. The quality of the product is great. Specifically, the wheels are awesome. It’s a smooth ride for the kids and the maneuverability is awesome fantastic. I saw a question asked about whether you can jog with this wagon - while it may not be interned for jogging, the quality allows you to do so. Note that this wagon is pretty heave and not aerodynamic at all, so it’s more challenging than using a jogging stroller. Also - I suggest putting the heavier child closer to you in the wagon or it is significantly more difficult. Set up was easy - I did it unassisted in less than 15 minutes with both toddlers insisting to help. What are the draw backs? The canopies don’t provide full coverage. They do allow for significant movement, so you can block direct sun, but depending on the weather and time of day, your riders may still be exposed to the sun. Second draw back is the ease of folding and unlatching the handle. I have some weakness in my thumbs, so I find this to be slightly challenging. I can do it independent, but maybe not as easily as others. For this reason, I wouldn’t say it’s the best if you are looking for an extremely easy solution. Like if you are wrangling 4 kids, this isn’t going to just pop right open. If you can sustain setting a child down or using both hands, it’s not a big deal. Overall - I think the value for the price is outstanding. I didn’t expect a Rolls Royce because I didn’t pay for one, but I think the quality of the product exceeds expectations for the price point. ... show more

  • In this Case, Bigger is Better
Style: Pivot Xplore Color: Wayfarer Black
My little one is not so little. Approximately 3' tall at one year means that they outgrew their first carseat rather quickly, and the stroller soon followed. That isn't to say we didn't cram in there and go for walks around town, but it was a less than comfortable experience. This stroller is a canoe. A skiff. A Buick. This stroller was engineered with my child in mind. And, if you note the analogy, is what is commonly called a "boat". It is seriously large, and requires a bit of manoeuvering when tight spaces are present. It can handle terrain incredibly well for having no shocks, and rides well across grass, gravel, and (to a lesser extent) sand. It folds well--you just have to get used to how it feels when folding/unfolding. It has enough room for two children, and my child sits quite comfortable in the seat and safety belt. Even our dog likes riding in the other seat when he gets 'tired' at the park. Materials are easy to clean. My concern about this stroller is that it is low to the ground for how big it is. Example: at the grocery store, the stroller takes up the footprint of a cart, but is less than half the height. This has led to several near collisions from other shoppers. Extra care is needed when other folks are pushing large objects around. Counterpoint: the stroller doubles as my cart. Overall, this is an excellent tool. I get questions from other parents about what it is and where I got it. And, most importantly, my little one loves it. ... show more
