This packout insert is skillfully crafted out of soft foam to keep all the driver parts in place and safe for use time and again. The all black foam is easy to install in a deep box packout box. I love that the parts fit nice and snug in the foam and will not move around if the box is vertical and being hauled around with the handle. The drill driver has room for a small battery at the same time. Likewise, there are slots ready for an additional 2 more batteries. I love the perfect fit not only for the packout box but the drill driver as well. So much happier knowing my investment is safe.

I got this because the pics show that the router will fit with the small baseplate on, but it does not fit with it installed. There is also very little space for a screwdriver and allen wrench to fit without it bouncing around all over the interior, and there isn't much of the foam to give it much rigidity when pulling the parts in and out of the mold. Overall the basic parts fit fairly well, except as I already indicated. In my opinion, there is not enough foam material to fully protect the parts, and I am afraid that over time, this will eventually be a point of failure once a lot of use has been had. For those needing a lot of shock protection, like in a truck toolbox or bed or environments where the box will be slung around a lot at a worksite, I would not recommend this insert. But for someone using the router occassionally and just looking to store it in the amazing packout system and boxes, this does an adequate job, but there are better options out there I think. But, the foam inserts are way better than the plastic 3D printed ones in my opinion as the foam is a great cushion, much cheaper, and a snug fit, preventing movement of the tool, which is pretty heavy.
