  • Big A__ Demand Regulator
Model: EU2000i
Review after connecting the EI2000i to the patio Natural Gas pipe fitting: 1. Patio had a built in 1/2 inch NG pipe and shutoff. I added a Second shutoff with a 1/2 FIP female & 3/8 inch male flared fitting. I bought appropriate 1/2 NG pipe to make the bends I wanted then added the shutoff valve. 2. I purchased the 12’ GASPRO 3/8-Inch Natural Gas Hose with Quick Connect Fittings - one end had the 3/8 inch flared female fitting. The other end was the quick connect and I hooked it up to the big ass regulator after taking off the propane tap. Then hooked the quick connect to the generator. Checked for gas leaks with a meter. Everything good. 3. Started the generator on pull 5 after priming a second time: fired right up! Priming correctly was the key and having the gas on! 4. Ran a little rough on non Eco and remedied that as per the manual. 5. Ran a little rough on Eco, remedied that per the manual. 6. Purred like a kitten. Happy customer. Review after installation: (EU2000i) The installation went well, I took the time to carefully read each step and ahead, then performed the tasks. Few surprises except the following: 1. The longer bolts could have been of better quality. They worked find but didn't have the OEM square head. 2, I only had to use one of the Grenergy gaskets but noticed the others were not OEM shape etc. They would work but quite a bit different in shape and quality from Honda OEM. The one gasket I used (my generator had not been used) was the outside venturi gasket. 3. I used a heat gun on low to clean up the hole saw cuts in the faceplates for venting. That after razor blade removal as specified in the instructions. The heat gun on low (don't linger on the plastic) returns the pastic to OEM like edging. 4. When replacing the spark plug be VERY CAREFUL not to lose it down into the gap near the spark hole or you will regret the next two hours trying to retrieve it! 5. Don't forget to put the label for the On Off button on BEFORE you install the switch. 6. The quick connection elbow did not tighten such that the two washers were squeezed against the plastic case; that threw me off a little and I don't think it's intended to BUT THEY DON"T SAY... but I soon learned having it turn flexibly was really not an issue. I'm not sure what is right or wrong but overtightening the fitting to snug it up seemed wrong. 7. I installed the Natural Gas fitting in the Venturi taking out the propane one that’s standard. Overall, the installation went very well. Like I said I took my time to make everything perfect and checked and rechecked my reading before applying the step. When done my generator looked OEM (Honda EU200Oi Series 2 Never Run In Box) Review before Installing: The parts were nicely done and even though I haven't installed them, yet my first reaction was: "That Demand Regulator is as big as Flavor Flav's Clock! In all seriousness, the parts came exactly as specified and I've watched a couple videos so installing it should be fun. Hope it works on NG as that is my desired application. ... show more

  • I have Installed two of these on two EU 2000 generators and they work A-1!
Model: EU2000i
The media could not be loaded. I have two very-low-hour Honda EU 2000i generators that I bought new in 2015, and converted one in 2021 and the second one yesterday, in October 2024. The installation is not difficult, and other than the 2 1/4 inch hole saw and step drill bit (which I already had and are easily purchased anywhere), involves simple hand tools. The drilling is easily done and, as the instructions say must be done carefully to avoid damage to generator parts, but only takes attention. The instructions are a little wonky, but not unusable… Make sure to read all the way through before you start. These two items perform flawlessly and I begin using the generator with Propane conversion so as not to have to drain the gasoline from the tank and carburetor and run it dry – even though I always use alcohol- free "recreational fuel" with Sta-Bil 360 fuel stabilizer added for every small engine item my own (that's the ticket, as it stays good year after year – but it's still still a concern). I heartily recommend this conversion kit to anyone who's looking for such a product. I looked at one or two others online and saw that this has the aluminum propane vapor manifold instead of a plastic 3-D printed one- Not only is it a good solid piece of aluminum that it is very well-machined. Once the regulator is placed on the tank and the cap placed under the Regulator to hold the regulator off of the tank (as per the instructions)and the hose quick-disconnect is attached to the generator elbow fitting, you simply push the prime button on the regulator for three seconds and give a pull or two on the starter rope handle and voilá, it starts and runs! And I am a real, live, 65-year-old Irishman, who doesn't like anything! I will be taking these down to our granddaughter, daughter and son-in-law's house in the western panhandle of Florida And bringing back the Honda EU6500 generator I got them many years ago, due to the two 2000i units' portability and storage ease. And there won't be such a race to try to get to the gas station before the gas is all gone! ... show more
