Just got it today. I like it a lot for what it is and can be used for. Briefly used it to chop kindling, while I succeeded, a hathchet would be a better choice. Anyway it's a solid tool for a bob or take along hiking.The wedge shape edge should split ok and you can baton along the spine if needed. This is definitely a beater tool andI will use and abuse as needed. The paint job is cheap and thin. Should have been powder coated, that's why the 4 🌟 anyway it definitely has a cook factor and woul make an excellent survival tool addition. ... show more

I bought one to compare to my SOG Tomahawk, and ended up getting a 2nd one because I liked it so much. It would be fun to throw for kicks or to carry on your camping gear to double as a small camp axe or self defense. For the money, it's a nice piece of equipment.

I like the overall shape and feel of this tomahawk. It's definitely a hawk meant to be used and abused. Mine came very dull, worthless really. I need to put in some time with a file just to get a good working edge, which is disappointing. The "desert finish" appears to be basic rattle can paint and it's not even. Minus a star for each issue because both could have been better. Overall not a bad deal and I don't regret it but I have to do more work on it than I should for it to be useable. ... show more

Estwing always makes quality products. You might need to reprofile the cutting edge a little. but this thing is indestructible. one solid piece of metal, then the handle is made of the same material that Estwing usses for their hammers. Also look up their small camp hatchet. I have one of those and went on every boy scout outing with me for 6 years ... show more
