If you have ever used a cane, you can appreciate the gazillion times you've tip one over after you've made yourself comfortable. I've broken wooden ones several times like that, and it's pretty bad for your morale. This light weight metal cane stands staight and tall like a palace guard. You can release it at a check out counter and it behaves with dignity, no falling about, making you more of a spectacle than you already feel you are... The padded flat handle is easy on the hands and wrists, which is nice if you've been saddled with an unruly partner, like arthritis. The toggle base is well suited for diverse terrain, like sidewalk cracks, potholes, cobblestones, or the occasional river rocks and mulched beds that you encounter on your way home from the pub. It's pattern is attractive enough to make you feel better about showing up to the party without a date. Ok, maybe that's over reaching, but it certainly does make you feel better about hobbling into the obligatory social events. I am loving this cane already. The handle has a foam pad all the way around it. I'm use to the gel handles; but this one is comfortable too. My arthritis will thank me...a little...haha. So far, I have had a cane with single rubber tip, a quad pivotal top and a four prong tip. I prefer this one to all the others. No matter how you turn or angle it it still makes contact with the ground. That will be a great help getting up from chairs at the doctor's offices. I won't have to keep my cane in a vertical position and hoist myself up. Diminishing arm strength makes that difficult. I now can angle the cane toward me, while sitting, and push up from there. I hope my explanation made sense. It isn't heavy nor too light. It's just right, for me anyway. Like I said, I am weak. It seems to be made out of a thicker metal than my last cane. I bent my last one when I fell against the lower cabinets in the kitchen and landed in the floor. No, the cane couldn't prevent that fall. My sandals caused that. (NO MORE LOOSE SANDALS FOR ME!) And hey, let's not forget the beautiful patterns they come in. I love the bright colors. It is a fashion accessory now...just kidding. ... show more

I got this for a friend who tended to drop her cane and fall over when she bent to retrieve it. The little feet on the bottom of this one work well, it stands up instead of landing on the floor -- which prevents her from landing on the floor. The one complaint I have is that I had ordered the yellow sunflower pattern, my friend is an amazing gardener, and got a pink paisley one, which I had delivered to her house. Fortunately she likes it very well. (But I still wish it had been the sunflower one.) ... show more

Great and colorful cane. After about six months I have not fallen while using it. However, the base is becoming a little wobbly and the foam at the top has cracked. Don't take the label off because that voids their warrantee.

    • Got this cane to replace a pair of crutches

Four days ago, I had surgery on my right foot. The doctor has me in a surgical boot and suggested that I put medium weight on my heel with the use of crutches. I felt so unsteady using them. Several times, I lost my balance and had to either grab onto furniture to keep from falling, or have my husband rush to my side to steady me. Using crutches has been quite a challenge, to say the least. My husband suggested I get a walking cane to use to steady myself when I get up to move about. It was delivered today and so far, it is easy to use, it is very steady, and I feel safe walking. I'll also have to use it to climb stairs when I head back to my job in two weeks. There is no elevator in the building where I work, so I need to have something that'll be easy to use. There is no way I can climb stairs, up or down, with crutches. I'll wind up falling for sure! My cane will work just fine. And the fact that it's pretty is a plus, too. Glad my husband recommended it!! ... show more
