I couldn't be happier with WDT espresso distribution tool. The tool and its stand is made from beautiful wood and has a nice weight to it, making it feel sturdy and durable in my hand. WDT tool has 4 pins with a wood base. The pins are a little thick at 0.55mm and are slightly angled. The angle causes issues when putting the WDT tool back into its base. Quality is ok but could be better. Starting to look for one with 8 straight pins that are thinner.

This is a pretty standard WDT tool - it has an elegant stand and design, which is pretty and looks good next to the coffee machine. The needles are as pictured online. However, the tool kind of misses the point of WDT. WDT is used in order to forcibly disperse clumps of ground espresso powder and make it more fine overall. This creates less air pockets when the espresso is compressed, creating a more even and thorough extraction. On this, however, the needles are too thick and too spread apart to effectively target these clumps - essentially, there's enough contact surface on the clumps with the needle to push the clump, rather than divide it and finely distribute the ground espresso. This means the needles are not effective in properly achieving the results of WDT. My extractions actually decreased in quality and suffered from channeling, indicating air pockets, when using this WDT tool compared to other models. There's very few WDT tools available that achieve proper distribution and this certainly isn't one of them. I've attached a photo of the result with this WDT tool compared to a model with thinner needles - see the larger, more clumpy distribution when using this tool.

Got this to try a WDT tool. It works as advertised. Takes some learning to get everything right but it's worth it. I grind the beans, use a funnel to insert the grounds into the portafilter and then use this in a back and forth motion to break up any clumps in the coffee grounds before tamping. Works perfectly.

I thought my wife had everything possible to make the perfect cappuccino and had I had never even heard about expresso distribution tools. She had however and was excited to get it. It's beautiful and smaller than I had imagined so it takes very little counter space. My wife says it is "funtional and its value is grossly underestimated". That is high praise from her.
