These stakes are well made and strong. I use them to stake down very large items, but they are mostly overkill for my use -- holiday decorations. I'm fine with that though knowing that nothing is going to move, get knocked over, or have someone trip over a loose cord or line. Highly recommend

I was really happy to find such a good product. I found a very large old iron hoop, and I wanted to secure it upright to make an art project out of it in my garden. I buried it slightly and used five of these stakes to hold it in place. It was easy to do, and it’s working great!

They are a good general size for holding normal sized tents, tarps or smallish medium animal traps. Reasonably easy to drive into hard ground since they are strong steel and have a sharp point. A bit heavy if you will carry a bunch of them on your back for camping, but if you need something for hard ground or whatever, might be what you need. You might want to smooth the ridges where a rope contacts it, if you are worried about fraying the line. .31 in root diameter, .34 inch dia including the ridges. The 16 inch stakes weight 7 oz each. Aluminum stakes would be lighter, but lack the durability and ability to penetrate harder soils. This is a solid choice if the weight is not a problem.

I should have double checked the measurement. These are half the width of other rebar stakes I have. I should have known by the price. I don't want to deal with shipping them back, but I'm also skeptical that they'll be strong enough for what I need. Also, be careful upon arrival. The box was literally shredded with the stakes poking out. - EDIT: They ended up working ok for a 10x10 pop up canopy, but the stakes did chip and bend slightly when hammering them in. They'll do for this, but probably not much more.

These stakes secure the posts quite well. The shepard's crook design permits the stake to wrap over whatever you are securing which makes it all the sturdier.
