Enter the Ergodyne Skullerz 8945F(x), the Tony Stark of bump cap inserts. It’s slim. It’s flexible. It slides into your everyday cap like it’s just chilling, but secretly it’s out here saving your brain cells from betrayal by doors, beams, and open hatchbacks. The first time I wore it, I tested it the only way a mature adult would: I headbutted a cabinet on purpose. (Okay, it was on accident, but let’s say it was research.) And you know what? No stars. No birds. Just a satisfying thud followed by smug silence. My hat didn’t even shift. I strutted off like I’d just won a bar fight with drywall. Comfort-wise, it’s weirdly impressive. It’s like a tiny turtle shell for your head, but breathable and discreet. I wore it for hours and forgot it was even in my hat until I took it off and flinched like my head had been abandoned. This is a great product. It was a gift for my dad to avoid cuts and bumps when he is working on cars. He is a mechanic and says that his is lightweight, yet it protects him from bumps. It can be cut to fit smaller caps.

I liked the first version but this is a great upgrade. It’s more breathable than the previous version, plain and simple it does its job. It protects your head. Depending on the hat you put it in it will take some getting use to. But besides that fits good.
