  • Quality Control VS. Luck Of The Draw?

I'm wanting a Les Paul Special with P90's for some time now. When I came across this new Inspired by Gibson model with so many positive features and reviews, I had to have one! It arrived quickly and in great shape. Truly a handsome guitar, I was very pleased with the color. Nice design. Quite comfortable, medium weight, so far all good. Tune and play! Well. Hmmm. The strings are literally on the fret board! The neck was slightly reverse bowed. No problem. A slow half turn to loosen the truss rod put it right. Intonation was pretty darn good for a wrap tail bridge. I noticed the alignment of the neck to bridge was slightly off, so the strings favored the top (Low E side), which also left the strings not centered over the pickups. This issue was minor, but noticeable. Oh those Frets!!! I scraped my finger tip on a sharp fret end. They were flush with the neck's edge, but too sharp! Then the Buzz. I couldn't dial it out. I checked the frets to find they were not level. Not even close. This guitar needed fret work. Game over. Guitar returned. That Vintage V132 sure is looking good... ... show more
