  • Epiphone Firebird…I’m a fan!
Color: Vintage Sunburst
The media could not be loaded. I’ve always wanted one of these guitars. I really like the body and feel of the guitar. I’m glad I bought it and I’m hoping to play shows with it. Still getting acquainted with the guitar but so far so good. The pickups are great in my opinion. It has stayed in tune with a little stretching of the strings…and I’m still messing with the string height and intonation but nothing too bad. Might put on a set of new strings soon to really know and get the sound I really want. It has a beautiful finish, the fretboard is flawless!! I love the headstock for some reason, the guitar is so long it’s crazy and I love it! I’ve owned a few Epiphones, they never disappoint!! I wish it came with a hard shell case…only thing I can think of to gripe about but I have one coming 😬 Now, I want an Epiphone SG and a Flying V…my wife will love that!!! ... show more

  • Amazing value
Color: Vintage Sunburst
Arrived in 3 days in pristine condition. Required setup was minimal, just some bridge height adjustment. Some complained about rough fret edges, but I didn't encounter any. The build quality on these mid-priced instruments coming out of China nowadays should be enough to shatter any biases. With the exception of one fret that isn't perfectly seated (2nd fret, fortunately, so not a real issue), the thing looks and plays as flawlessly as my "real" Gibsons made decades back. The neck is surprisingly beefy, and the tone surprisingly twangy. Strongly recommend (assuming you're tall enough to handle a guitar that is roughly 1 inch shorter than a Fender Jazz Bass -- this boy is a chungus). ... show more

  • Needs slight setup
Sounds good, light, slight intonation issue on 2 strings, action is decent but a tad high. Strings are usable. Awkward to sit with, makes funny jokes, go figure. Don't like the toggle switch, it's loose and doesn't seem to switch both pickups on in the middle position. A few frets could be smoothed off a bit more on the edges. One big thing I noticed and it may be normal with a neck through design, if I lay my shoulder weight on to the back of the body as I'm playing, the strings pitch out, like a whammy bar. I've been messing with guitars for a while but still consider myself a beginner. So spend another few dollars to finish setup. I don't think the MSRP is a good value but what I payed for this olive isn't bad value. it'll be a good beginner or intermediate axe, just be sure to have it set up correctly. ... show more

  • Great guitar!
Color: Vintage Sunburst
Six stars!!! This is a fantastic piece of work. The pickups cleaned up very nicely when the volume knob rolled back. The neck was very playable. They fixed the neck dive as compared with previous models. The weight is very manageable. B E A-utiful finish. Over the moon in a white room With the badge and a spoon, On highway 61 with a free bird. Keef and Eric, and Allen, and Johnny in a box. BTW arrived without a setup needed, and sooner than expected. ... show more

  • The best guitar under $700.00
Color: Vintage Sunburst
This is a very nice guitar. Epiphone version of the Gibson Firebird. Epiphone is made by Gibson, only made in China. Almost a complete replica of the Gibson model. The only difference is the Grover tuning machines are different now. A very good sounding guitar, quality is like Gibson. I upgraded to black hardware, black pickguard and black knobs. ... show more
