I had probably the first version of Epilady and wow have they changed! The original looked like a spring that twisted around and as you rubbed it along your leg, the hairs got trapped in the spring and therefore removed. This newest version is easy to use and clean. It still tweeses the hairs but it's much more efficient and therefore less painful. The hair does grow back less and less the more you use it.

Used EpiLady for over 20 years. New one is a poor copy of earlier models. Have to go over hairs over and over to get them all. Small version for face is even less effective. I wasted my money.

I bought an Epilady classic model about 30 years ago and never could figure out how to get the coil to pick up my hair. Well this style of epilator is easy to figure out! I can start by saying I bought this knowing I would not have smooth “just like shaving” results as it takes multiple treatments so time and patience is needed. This style of hair removal is best for those who want to remove visible hair but don’t mind their legs feeling like there’s a little stubble. I decided to start during the winter so my legs are ready by summer. My first use was a bit painful as the spinning disks pluck a lot of hairs, but each area gets numb after a minute. I was suprized at how much hair it removed. I am now up to my 4th treatment and this time it was not painful at all and my legs are visibly free of hair. I have allowed about a week between treatments but waited two weeks this time because the longer the hair, the easier it is to remove. I used this on my arms and as I never shave them all of my hair was 90% gone the first use. I’ve also used this on my face on my jawline and upper lip and it worked like a charm as well. I chose this epilator because Epilady has been around for decades and the L5 is the latest and greatest at the time of this review, having the most “tweezers” in one row. I wanted something rechargable so I didn’t have to mess with a cord while using it and didn’t care to use it wet either, my hair is light in color and it helps seeing my hairs being in a well lit area. I admit I am a bit concerned as a few reviewers (per my research) complained of the battery life being poor and not holding a charge over time, so I registered it with Epilady to ensure the one year warranty. If I get a year out of it I will be happy because the cost of this is equivalent to getting my legs waxed just once.

I had one of these in the mid-90s and it was a torture device. I gave it to a work colleague who clearly had a higher pain threshold than I did. This one is far improved, which I expected because of other reviews here, but last night I caught the skin at the back of my knee in it and it HURT. No raves here.

Product not as good as the original. Stopped working after 2 months. Customer service is non existent with this company. No response from the Epilady company to my email and voice mail.

i just love this product. I've had this family of epilators for over 5 years and i use them a lot. i have PCOS, therefore facial hair is my nightmare. this epilator has been my savior. i do not travel anywhere without it and it has never failed me. i use it for the whole body, arms, underarms, legs and face. i couldn't recommend anything better than this and believe me, I've spent $1000 on hair removal products
