    • why is this such a great optic? BECAUSE TEXAS!!!!
All kidding aside I scored this optic super cheap on Amazon. All I can figure is it was sold by a shop outside of Texas and they aren't fond of our flag in their state. I bought this wanting aesthetics of this optic, but once I started to train with this Eotech I started to understand why this is a favorite of the military. It isn't fancy, the reticle is decent and you will not see a super clear reticle like in red dots or in prisms. But it is great clear glass and accurate and stays zeroed no matter how you beat on it. This is the civilian version of the military one. If you aren't aware of the night vision capable models, they start with EXPS...this one does not have night vision settings as it starts with XPS. Multi-target fast acquisition is this optics wheelhouse. It is heavier as it is a holographic and not a lightweight red dot or prism. But it is a damn good optic. Batteries will drain every other month depending on how much you train with it. Good to pick up a few rechargeable versions of it and keep it in your bag. It does not have shake n wake, so you will have to choose to turn it on for either 4 hours or 8 hours and the autoshutoff will reduce your usage. Buttons are easy to use for brightness. turrets for adjusting elevation and windage are not as tactile as I'd like but they work. I love the format but the EXPS3 seems to have less pixelation
