  • Great tuner to help learn fingering.
Love this tuner for my violin. I can put it on just tuning hor the continuous mode that registers each note. Since I’m new to the instrument I use it to make sure my fingers on on the right notes. Use to use. Easy to read and adjust my placement for correction. Easy to set up. Easy to turn on and off. Fits well below the scroll around my D/A string pegs. I’m also using the Trala app that I live and it’s helping learn at my pace. Very user friendly. The app and the tuner work well together. Would buy again. I was using my phone app but I wanted to be able to have my head in the right direction while holding the violin and read the music. The phone was getting in the way too much. ... show more

  • Works Great!
Easy to use. Just clips right on. My violin has not been tuned for years. This product was simple and easy.

  • Smaller than expected, Tunes great, Screen and sensitivity need work
Even tho it tunes well, the screen itself on mine, the G looks like a C with a tail. It does not look like the pictured G displayed in the product description. I am using it for a violin. All the strings sound totally tuned properly. I only give this a 4 star rating because of the G looking like a C and because it wasnt as sensitive to plucking the string while tuning. I had to pluck harder than usual. ... show more

  • Great Violin Tuner Fits over Peg Box
I have been using a different tuner for my violin but decided to try this one for my practice violin. It was a great purchase and fits extremely well. The ONLY drawback is I have to take it off of my violin when putting my violin back in the case. I expected this when I made the purchase, so it isn’t that big of a deal. ... show more

  • Does not fill the niche
Tuners are a dime a dozen, but a tuner that mounts on a pegbox and viewable by the musician is a rare and desirable commodity. Unfortunately, this product is geared towards the fractional-sized violins; 3/4, 1/2, etc. It is a big stretch of the clip to fit on a full-size violin, let alone viola, cello or base. The battery cover attaches with a tiny Philips head screw, so replacing it while away from your workshop might be a trick. Nice that they include a spare battery, but the compartment does not indicate + and - side, so you need to know your battery design and connectivity principles to get it in correct position. Other than that, the unit seems fine, with a bright display. The "chromatic" setting (be sure to switch to it from "violin") is a big help for skill-building fingering and ear training on a fretless playboard. If they fixed the mechanical design issues it would get 5 stars. ... show more

  • Spot on accuracy!
As a novice violinist, achieving the perfect tune is crucial, and this tuning tool delivers precision that has garnered approval from my wife, an accomplished musician, as well as my violin instructor and a separate electronic tuning device. It has proven to be a true time-saver, effortlessly clamping onto the pegbox with speed and ease. The visual clarity it provides is exceptional, even for me without my glasses. Its compact size is a standout feature, seamlessly fitting into my violin case for convenient portability during travels. Overall, this tuning accessory has significantly enhanced my practice sessions and performances, making it an indispensable tool for any violinist, whether beginner or seasoned. ... show more

  • Nice!
The device is set up for violin, viola, cello, or ‘chromatic’ - which means you can use it to tune everything from a bowed instrument to a banjo to a flute. Easy to use and it seems durable, so kids could use this, too. It also came with a battery and an EXTRA battery, which I appreciated. Playing in tune is critical - this will help any student. You can also set it ar 440hz or choose from a range from 430 to 450hz, it isn’t automatically going to just give you a 440 tuning and nothing else - this feature is useful if you are playing historical instruments, or trying to match up with instruments tuned a bit over or under 440. ... show more

  • Bad design
Stopped working. Tried new batteries, no help. Poor design. Battery cover requires removal of a tiny screw. On/off button in bad location. I do not recommend.
